This, most likely, will not help you. If it is stuck and you smell something burnt I think your camera has serious problems. I think this is the time to decide REPAIR or REPLACE.

You didn't say what software you are using, but there are better ways to download your photos. The best way is to connect your SD flash memory card to the computer. If your computer has a SD card slot you are in luck. If not, you can buy a USB SD reader for under $20 on line or in any computer store.
To use it, remove the SD card from your camera and insert it in the reader. Your computer will automatically recognize the SD card as an external memory device; exactly as it does with an external hard drive. You can then open the SD card and access the folder with your pictures. All you need to do is copy and paste your photos from the SD card to a new folder on your computer. It's that simple. Almost all professional photographers use this method and do not transfer pictures from the camera with the SD card in the camera.
Look at your camera's body with the lens pointing toward you. In the upper right quadrant find the Flash Mode button and push it until the flash is turned off (look for symbol on the camera's display panel). The instructions are on pages 50 and 51 of the D5100 manual. If you do not have a manual, you can download it from the Nikon USA website free by following this link:

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
Not easy to understand what you mean with blurred. Could be out of focus or a blurred because of a low shutter speed, shot with the camera in hand. Try switching the camera to Automatic and switch the AF / MF to AF. On the lens the switch that says A M or M/A A, should be in the A setting.
Letting it dry out in a nice warm location before seeing if it worked would have been the best solution. It is likely that a lot of electrical damage has taken place and the cost of repair to the camera body my outweigh the cost of a new body. You may pay out a lot for the repair and have re-occurring problems. personally, I would cut my losses and buy a ne body for the camera.
If the colors are washed out on the LCD screen but appear OK on your computer, the problem is likely with the LCD itself.
If the color is washed out in both the LCD screen and on your computer, you can try adjusting menu settings to intensify the color on the images. Also, you might want to reset the camera to its default settings. I can do that on my D-90 by simultaneously holding down the "AF" and "+/-" buttons on the top right hand side of the camera. Holding down those buttons for about ten seconds will restore the default settings.
If these steps don't help, return the camera to the seller for a replacement.
You set it for raw in the shooting menu then clik onImage quality then toggle right and set Jpeg or NEF RAW good luck I suggest JPEG fine for you RAW takes all your space up unless you are pro and know what you are doing
Your ISO was to high or to low , I cant see your pictures to tell, but darkness means you diidnt let enough light in the lens set your appuatue to a small number and slow down your shutter speed. It will help preveiw your pictures before you print . Download Picasa for free and fix your pictures its easy. Goodluck Ozout!
Here is a list of things to check:
1. Go into the camera's menus and make sure that the flash is enabled.
2. Check in the menus that the flash is not set in the command mode.
3. You didn't say if your camera was in the auto mode, aperture or shutter priority, etc. If the camera is in shutter priority or manual mode, make sure that the shutter speed is below 1/250th of a second.
4. Make sure that the ISO speed isn't set so high that the camera thinks that flash is not needed.
There must have been something really wrong with your camera, if the miss or was blocked..
Most of the time the removal of the battery should be enough to reset the camera.
When you are recording a video, and playing it back on the camera, you should hear the sound. I don't have the manual for the D5100 at hand, but there should be tree settings for the microphone Manual sensitivity , automatic sensitivity and off. Look in the menu settings what you selected.
I hope everything is well with the camera and I hope you charge the battery more often, even if you don't use the camera that often.
