I have a Toshiba Satellite
To use external display, Connect an external monitor to your laptop. Start your laptop and use Fn+F5 buttons
also try to go to enter password 3 times. and note given error code.

I am locked out of my Satellite L305-S5968 and
you will require windows cd to reset or remove the password,first boot with cd and you get option to press any key to boot with cd ,press any key now windows will start copying files ,dont worry we are not reinstalling windows so keep up the installation process till you get the screen which says installing devices and windows time will be approx. 39 minutes to complete installation
quickly press Shift key+F10 this combination will stop windows installation and new window will pop that gives you option to reset and remove password.
Now do as you like and remove windows cd ,
It is the best possible solution you may find in all of cyberspace ,no harm to computer is done ,i hope you will be happy to use this technique and help others as well.

Keyboard problem
Hi,
With the allignment of the problematic keys, it seems like its something to do with the chip. By any chance, did you spill water on the keyboard? Please approach the customer service center.

the hard drive either has a bad connection or it has failed. if it has failed you have to replace it. if you have replaced it is the connector connected and is it oriented right.

Driver problem after reformatting
Be sure to install, at least sp2 on XP, many driver issues are resolved
If you have sp2 or sp3, I would suggest starting with your chipset driver and hopefully the rest will be able to install.

to remove the hibernation mode goto screen saver setting then you will see the power,click n power box and you will find hibernate option,click that box and you will see hibernate enable box with check.un-check that box and restart your pc

for harddrive there its showing or not in bios otherwise first try to configure the harddisk then try for hardware part
