Look in your owners manuals and papers for a statement of warranty coverage included with the laptop. You may have to contact HP and find an authorized repair facility to ship the laptop to. Hi I would suggest taking it to an independent computer shop to see if it is worth repairing as screens are not as expensive as they were, and are usually relatively straightforward to replace. Alternatively this depends on just how badly, and in what particular way the screen has been damaged. It sounds as if the "heavy object" will have done for it, but the only real way to find out is to turn it on and see if you can see anything on the screen at all. There is a risk here as the oject may have caused sufficient damage for a short circuit which could result in further electrical, as well as the existing physical damage, to be done. If you decide to do this I suggest that you remove the battery, plug in the charger and then press the power on button whilst being ready to immediately pull the plug if you detect any thing nasty happening.

Most laptop mother boards do not have fuses. Check battery and charger and connection to the laptop. the connector on the mother board for the charger is a common failure point.

How much ram does your machine have? If two tabs in a web browser makes it very slow you may need more ram. What you can do in the mean time is use the system tools to delete all your "temporary" files. Or use the web browsers delete the cache buttons.

What kind of books? Are you maybe talking about all the Bookmarks? Or are you talking about files you have downloaded? For bookmarks click the 3 bars in the upper right hand corner of the browser screen and look on that menu. For download book files try looking in the downloads folder of your computer or try Cntl-J which should show you an index and help you locate them on your PC.

Yes, you can if you really want to, however as mentioned Facetime is specific to Apple products, therefore you need to download "Crossover" software on your pc for this to work. "Crossover" software will emulate the enviroment of an other Operating system, which makes it possible to run iOS programs on a Windows based PC or the other way around, PC software on a iOS based laptop.

Hi Gerry, if your HP's video card is capable of running the game, you can update the video driver. I would suggest trying the HP Driver Download Support website first. That laptop is older.I would plug the laptop to a regular computer monitor.there is a VGA plug in the rear.boot the laptop up after you have attached the blue VGA cord .The older computer recognize the connection and come on immediately .If not after it is on hold down th (funtion) key fn and press f4 and the machine should displayed on the monitor try that .
