Toshiba satellite A35-S159 Microphone

please answer the following questions and follow instructions accordinlgy:

1. did it ever work? what changed since?, if something change try to use system restore to go back to the time prior the changes

2. did you just installed the chat application? skype?msn messenger? yahoo messenger? if you just install the application where you are trying to use the mic. you need to configure your mic before you can use it. usually under tools or settings you will find sound devices, some computer may have more than one source of input sound (mic) so go into those settings and look for a way to set your mic as the source and test to ensure it is working. the configuration procedures may differ among applications.

3. did it work and stop working all of a sudden and system restore won't get it working again?? you may have a driver issue, first try to reinstall the driver for that you need to do into device manager, found the sound devices, select the device with a yellow ? or ! and attempt to uninstall the driver, then restart your computer, the driver will reinstall by itself, then go into the chat application and reconfigure your input device and test.
on some ocations you may have to look for a new driver to solve your problem for that you need to go into the manufacturer's website, look the model of your number up and look for the a possible new update for your sound device driver and installed as per manufacturer's instructions. find the drivers need for your system here

provide more details as noted above and if possible we will try to assist further.

Cannot access Email accounts from Internet

Basically I found an article at Microsoft's site entitled "How to troubleshoot situations where you cannot complete MSN sign-up or connect to SSL secured (128-Bit) Web sites by using Internet Explorer in Windows XP"

To make a very long story short ... all you have to do is re-register the following .dll files:

Softpub.dll
Wintrust.dll
Initpki.dll
Dssenh.dll
Rsaenh.dll
Gpkcsp.dll
Sccbase.dll
Slbcsp.dll
Cryptdlg.dll

To re-register these files, follow these steps:

-----------------------------------------------

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type one of the following commands, and then click OK (copy and paste is your best friend):

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

4. Click OK when you receive the message that says DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded.

5. Repeat for each command line listed above

Toshiba Satelite A35-S1592 won't load XP. Toshiba

· First troubleshooting - When you turn the laptop on, are you able to see the splash screen? This would be the computer manufacturer's screen display that usually shows a picture but may also be text and usually appears right before the Windows logo screen. If the answer is yes, then more than likely, the operating system is corrupt. This can be caused by several things including viruses, power surges or hardware failure. If your computer hits the windows screen and reboots back into a loop, this is also signs of Windows being corrupt.

Solution - Take the hard drive out of the laptop and slave it to another working desktop computer to retrieve your data. You may need a special cable for this because the laptop hard drive is smaller than the cable in a desktop. This process can be done, taking precaution that both computers are off while slaving the hard drive. After you attach the hard drive, turn the desktop on, it will read it like another drive and you will be able to pull all of your information from it. You only want to grab the user files, not other data and run a scan to rid of viruses. Then attach the hard drive back on and reformat it.

· Second troubleshooting - If you hear the operating system chime but do not see a picture and all the lights are on, then this would indicate that the back light on the screen is out. You can test this simply by hooking the laptop up to a monitor and see if you get a picture. If the computer screen shows on the monitor, then your back-light is out. If it doesn't show up then your video graphics card is out.

Solution - If the back light is out, it is easier to order a new screen (new or used) from eBay and just switch out (simple process and you can find a replacement for under 50 dollars on eBay). If it is the video graphics card, then you can also purchase one from eBay and switch out (a little tougher because you have to take the top of the laptop off). You can get assistance with this from the manufacturers website (service manual) and pull specs for free.

· Third troubleshooting - To test the battery, take the battery out of the laptop and turn on with just the adaptor. If it boots, then the battery will need to be replaced. There is no way of testing the power adaptor but 85% of the time, this is the problem. Even if lights come on, the adaptor sometimes gets so overheated that it silently goes out but gives just enough power to make the lights come on. The power adaptor can be found on eBay for under 20 dollars and is cheap enough to replace (first) to make sure that is not the problem. The battery can also be found on eBay for under 60 dollars.

· Fourth troubleshooting - If you do not hear any beeps and the above solutions did not work. Then your motherboard has failed. This can be caused by surges or dust. You can purchase a replacement from eBay for a fraction of the cost and replace (this is tough and I am not sure if they have specs for this). You can do it yourself, just be sure and put everything back together as it was.

you did wrong things first .. you needn't to download the driver as you are not sure of your model touchpad company. i think you have downloaded the wrong driver . first you have to knoew the company's name then go to thier official website thier check your driver version correctly. as you have a new system you needn't to download driver as they are installed when you buy it.
so try Roll Back Driver in device manager touch pad option after that ur touch pad works

Toshiba Satellite A35 S159 AC PROBLEM

Yet you need to set up what is called a hardware profile so that you can use the Laptop on either AC power only or on AC Power and Battery. Although it is normally used for docking it can still be used for the battery.

One profile for the office where the laptop is docked and the network adapter enabled, and a second profile can be created for use when you are working away from the office that disables the network adapter but enables the modem.

To set up hardware profiles in XP, complete the following steps:

  1. On the desktop, right click the My Computer icon and select Properties.
  2. From the Hardware tab, click the Hardware Profile button.
  3. Under the list of available hardware profile, select Docked Profile or Undocked Profile and click Copy.
  4. Type in a new name for the profile and Click OK.
  5. Select the new profile and click Properties. Select the check box beside This is a portable computer. Select the docking state for the profile. Click the option to Always include this profile when Windows starts. Click OK.
  6. You can now use Device Manager to enable and disable devices for a hardware profile.

Some people do say that if you totally discharge a rechargeable battery and then fully recharge it you will get a greater AmpHour from it but this will be negligible as all batteries have a standard number of Amps that it will deliver built into it, it may fall with age. Although rechargeable batteries don't just fail like normal dry cells they tend to fail over a period of time and fool us a bit.

LOL
