Compatible LCD's for my Toshiba Tecra?
The only way I know is to do research on the computer you have, find the part number of the screen, then do a search of that number and see what other laptops pop up. It is a long shot but it is the only way I know to solve that issue. Happy hunting.
While switching to "standby" mode,
I would browse www.toshiba.com and download updated drivers and firmware. It is a very well laid out site and easy to use.
Hope that helps.
Sound level is extremely low
without more information, nobody can even attempt to help you. have you tried turning it up with the software application? Do you have a volume switch on it externally> I had one that did...
Toshiba tecra a5 internal speakers
Yes.. Sound would definitely work with the headphones..
And also, you may be able to fix the internal speakers. they probably arent dead. You probably just need to reload the sound card driver.
To find your audio / sound driver. Go to this link
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download
Enter your Toshiba model number. and when the list of drivers come up.
Find and download the sound card driver.. Then install it. And then restart the computer.. Your sound should work again.
Computer won't turn on. d600
hi
If you have replaced the power pack (assuming the power pack is BRAND NEW and has a green light to indicate that there is power going into the adapter) i've seen cases where the green light is on the power pack but no juice is flowing to the laptop - so if its2nd hand i'd look at a new one.
Failing that remove battery and try - battery could be casuing the motherboard not to accept power due to faulty battery
Failing you have tried all the above then it looks like your motherboard needs replacing
Sorry
Dell D600 Doesn't switch on
check to see if the charger has current flowing. maybe the charger not charging the battery.
get hold of a voltage tester hold the black end on the outter round part stick the rred end in the middle place it on the male prong you should get a 19v reading.anything like 14v 10v or loweer can charge the battery.if you get a19v 18.blah v reading then you need a motherboard repair or replacement
if so get one cheap on ebay
inspiron d600 motherboard
Abnormally Switches off
I'm afraid that this sounds like either a fuse, capacitors or a blown relay on the motherboard. Otherwise, it could also have something to do with some kind of problem involving the battery.
First and foremost, take the battery out of the system before doing anything else. See what happens without the battery in the laptop. If the problem seems to be solved by doing so by some chance, then you probably have a short in the battery itself. (Which would explain the issue.)
Beyond that, the most I can advise on is checking the power settings in your BIOS as quickly as you possibly can before it shuts off. See if there is anything in particular that might have an effect on the system's operation. I would disable any power-saving features and such... Just to cut those unnecessary variables out of the equation.
See if you can get it into the BIOS...and see if it still shuts down once it is in the BIOS. (No doubt it will... It wouldn't make ANY sense if it didn't, now would it?)
Try those things for now... But do NOT rate me if this does not fix your laptop. Remember that we are here to TRY our best to provide a solution. This is not meant to be a solution.
This is meant to find a cause for the problem. Only THEN can we give any kind of solid solution or conclusion.
Either way, I ask that you wait to rate me until after we follow these steps and I give you my conclusions. If the laptop is fragged, I ask that you give me a fair rating based on my attempt. Not based on the fact that I could not fix your laptop.
Remember that hardware failure is NOT OUR FAULT. We tried to help either way.
Thanks and let me know what happens. K?

My phone is not turning on
I have had this on an iphone 5. Apple sold me a new phone as it was not worth repairing and it was out of the 12 month warranty. Its possible to order a new part and do it yourself but unless you are totally confident and have the skills to open up your phone and reassemble it then its just not worth it.
