If you don't get this prompt, you can just go to the Start Menu, type "backup" in the search box, and hit Backup and Restore. From there, click the "Set Up Backup" button. Pick the external drive you plugged in and hit Next. Windows' default settings are probably fine, so you can just hit Next and the next screen too

That is a lot of good detailed info, though may be too much at once for accurate search engine results.
What type of computer is this?
So if it doesn't say, please go to the start menu and type "dxdiag" then tap enter, you can say yes or no to the pop up, next it will show you the computer name and other good info. Web browser search for "(computer name) power supply". Alternatively you can get good info about computer by typing in the start menu search glass " system information" or "msinfo" and look at system model, then search that with the phrase power supply. Here ill show you in 1 minute... https://youtu.be/8eelyaYE3QM Just made this for you.

Not knowing how it is "broken" you will probably find that most laptop LCD screens are usually Not repairable. You will need to go to a few Good laptop repairers and get them to quote for the repair. It might turn out to be cheaper to just replace the laptop.

If you're using Windows, plug the ASUS device in via wired (ethernet). Hit Start, then type in CMD, then type in ipconfig. Look for wired local area connection. Do you see 10.0.1.1? That's probably the ASUS. Now, type that in your browser. Voila, the GUI should pop up. It worked for me.

PXE-E61 Media Test Failure Error for Intel® Desktop Boards Documentation
Content TypeTroubleshooting
Article ID000005740
Last Reviewed11/01/2017 What are you seeing?
The following errors display when your Intel® Desktop Board starts:
  • PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable.
  • PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
Why are you seeing it?
PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment) is a boot environment that allows the Intel Desktop Board to boot up using a network interface, instead of booting from an installed hard drive. You can enable or disable PXE boot in the BIOS.
If PXE Boot is enabled in BIOS, the PXE-E61 and PXE-M0F errors can happen when both of these are true:
  • A bootable hard drive is not detected.
  • A network cable is not connected to the Intel Desktop Board.
How to fix it
If a drive is installed Check that the drive is detected in BIOS:
  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to the Boot menu.
  3. Check the Boot Drive Order.
  4. Press F10 to exit BIOS Setup.
If Boot Drive Order shows No Boot Drive:
  • Check that the drive is properly installed in the computer.
  • Try installing a different known good drive.
If PXE Boot is enabled in BIOS To check the BIOS option:
  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to the Boot menu and check for Boot to Network.
  3. Press F10 to exit BIOS Setup.
If you do not plan to boot to a network, disable this option.

If you do want to boot to a network, check that the network cable connection is working properly.

Either the firewall needs to be configured to allow connection, or more likely, you need to connect to your router, also known as wifi.
