go to bios settings in the desktop motherboard, you can see an option that says SATA NATIVITY support... this option must be disabled inorder to recognize the new HDD from your desktop...

power cycle your modem and any device connected between modem and computer, also power cycle the computer.

This shoul so the trick, in case that does not work, check your firewall settings, may be try to disable the firewall and check.

In case this also does not help, please call the customer support

you may be able to remove the bios battery or reset the bios manually if you open it up

You can purchase it or when you got the PC,it would have to come with your PC.

it shouldnt be a problem doing this just depends on how much stuff is stored on it. you can take a toshiba xp disk and format it. Make sure you back up the information before you do on another computer. Windows XP requires a gig of space for updates. Also make sure you have enough physical memory to do so like 256. There should be no activation process of this but if there is need to find the password for the disk. if you have any problems check my website.

you may download the driver from the link below all you need to select is the correct model from the list and then download the motherboard chipset driver.

The only way you will get this disk is from Toshiba (for a price) and you will need the exact model number. You can probably download the individual drivers for the various devices in it but not the full CD.

Hi rab, windows in general will not allow you to go back wards to ME. Some laptops & other systems place a hidden partition at the top of the drive. These hidden partitions normally are around 2-4Mb in size. (Not enough for windows to finish install). So go to the link provided & create a bootable CD/DVD.
Darik's Boot And Nuke will completely erase the drive, (Including any hidden partitions). You can than install ME without an any issues. Download Darik's Boot and Nuke 1.0.7

we need to know the error code of each components in a computer parts

please check the sound card installed on your system, eventhough its OEM card, but mfrs keep changing them from vendor to vendor. Later go the vendor's site and look for drivers or solutions

please give full details of model no. , year of mfg, country of origin/mfrg, and windows vers?

You may use a licence key to install a copy of windows on any pc as long as you own it and have destroyed the last installation.

so as long as you don't have either your win98se or ME product keys used on another installation then you can use whichever you choose to install on the pc you were given.

I will suggest you to bring the your laptop to the vendor where did you bought the laptop or in any other vendor that known store of the computer system. i am sure they can assist you locating the service center of your laptop or maybe they fixed your system.

many laptops are specifically designed to be as compact as possible, and in this methodology the cases are often crafted to fit the motherboards exactly, with little waste of space, the cases are not designed to be "generic" so although you may be able to get a different laptop motherboard to fit. the Processor placement, cooling ducting, and cabling placements will most likely be different, also the pin outs for the monitor and for any ports may differ also...

This is not a mod I would usually reccommend, and I am just trying to let you know what you may be in for.
