My macbook air does not have an optical drive how can I get the soft ware for my kodak dx 4530 on my computer?
You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Kodak dx4530 switches off
Check to see if it has a clock battery. If so, replace it. However, the problem may be one of two things.1. Low battery. this takes AAs, make sure they are alkaline, mercury, or rechargeables and are fresh.2. Some cameras develop this problem when the surface mounted CAPs [capacitors] start to leak. The only real option then is a new camera. Replacing these would be more costly than a new camera. And since it seems to be an older camera [5mp and no longer available.] maybe it's time to upgrade anyway. FYI, I recommend Canon cameras for best price/quality balance. But that's just me.

In the Kodak cameras of that vintage the original 3V rechargeable battery was made of 2 regular AA rechargeable batteries and a special piece of plastic that pushes some microswitch in the battery compartment. If this piece of plastic is missing, the dock would not charge the batteries. You either need the special CRV3 battery or to charge the normal AA rechargeables with a separate charger.

Please follow the below instructions :-

- After you connect the memory card , to your pc via a card reader , you should get a removable drive icon relevant to your memory card in your my computer folder.
- Then all you need to do , is select format by right clicking on the card , and then when you see the options in format dialog box you need to select the NTFS and FAT32 one at a time and format the memory card and then check if it works with NTFS file system in your memory card or FAT32 file system.
