If your batteries are old, they may have lost their retaining power. Therefore, even if you recharge them fully, they will drain quickly.
Try using new batteries and let us know if the problem is not solved.

My camera keeps showing camera

Hello

Thank you for using FIXYA!!!

This is a suggestion. If you do not feel comfortable trying it, you will need to take the unit to your nearest service centre. Feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

The problem might be that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Lost software for my z700

You can download Kodak Easyshare software from
http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/list/c/890/selected/true

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

It will no longer read

Hi,

If the Memory Card is not recognized by the Camera, then the Memory Card inserted is either corrupted or not detected by the Camera. You can try few steps to resolve the issue.
Try cleaning the terminals of the Memory Card and the Memory Card slot. The Card terminals can be cleaned using a soft dry cloth and a can of condensed air can be used to clean the dust in the card slot.
If you're using a new Memory Card in the Camera, it should be formatted before capturing images.
The FORMAT option is available in the Setup Menu of the Camera. In any mode, press the MENU button to select the Menu option and use the control buttons to highlight Setup Menu. Now select FORMAT option to format the Memory Card or Internal Memory.
Try to backup all the files in the Computer before formatting as this will delete all the files saved in the card and the internal memory. I suggest that you Format both the Memory Stick and the Internal memory before using.
Reset the Camera back to factory default before capturing images which will set all the settings back to factory default.
If the Camera is still not recognizing both the memory sticks, then the issue may be with the camera and can be resolved with the help of a service tech.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

I turn the camera on to take a picture and it

Your problem is likely due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you're using rechargeable batteries). This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, it may be time to replace your batteries, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

If this response helps, please take a moment to post a rating. "Very Helpful" would be appreciated . .

HI THERE,I HAVE A KODAK

This is common with these cameras. It seems to be the need of a firmware update. When dust is on the zoom and lens, that can cause that as well.

Bought a 4GB SD card for my easyshare z700 camera.

The Z700 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity) and will not work in the Z700. You'll have to stay with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Will sdhc memory card work in my z700?it comes up

Sorry, I hate these questions because there's a yes and no answer. All brands of SD memory will work in your camera but when it comes to SDHC (High Capacity) some brands simply won't work whilst others do a great job. I can't say which ones don't but it's dependent on ther type of chip in the card.

Whatever you do, don't try to format the card on your computer it should always be done on your camera which you say you did, well done. But the fact it's not formatting is either due to the card being incompatible or damaged. Can you try it in a card reader on your computer to see if it will let you save data to it or download data from it? The memory cards are somewhat robust but simply turning your camera off whilst the card is being accessed can destroy the card completely.

My advice would be try the memory in another camera to see if it will format or try another card in your camera. Are you sure you are taking the correct steps in the camera format routine?

I wish you luck and hopefully a good format

My KOdak Easyshare LS743 camera error #45

This is a lens error. KODAK suggests a repair for this fault.

However due to spare part shortage this model is no longer repaired. Instead KODAK offers a trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.
