Kyocera Finecam SL400R Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Where to buy a new CCD for Kyocera SL400R? What is the part number of this blessed CCD ?
You could try Kyocera, but I don't think they still have 10 year old CCD's in stock. And if they have, it could be more expensive then a brand new DSLR. And even if you have a CCD, who will replace it and what reassurance do you have nothing else is defect in the camera.
After 10 years perhaps you should try to accept the camera is beyond repair and new camera's now perform better and faster, for less money.
My camera won't charge
I've got same problem - cant charge the battery. Plug into charger, kyocera red light comes on momentarily, then goes out.
Battery life
I bought a few SL400R.. yes I think this is the best camera ever. The battery that came with the cameras always would last very short time, especially in cold weather. But when I ordered new ones online, these would last very long. The specs of the new batteries are the same as the original ones. Go figure. After that I ordered external charger too, so I dont need to use the camera's built-in charger. Works very well.
Image on camera freezes
This look like an connection problem.
You could try squeezing the casing here and there to see in the connector[s] resets- but failing that it is a repair shop job
As soon as I put
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.
Regards
Andrea

Do i need the disk
You shouldn't. If anything, you might have to download some software drivers from Kyocera's website.

My open view is not showing any pictures but showing information about programs playing what might be the problem
Some steps you can try:
Check Picture Location:
Ensure that the pictures you want to view are in the same folder location. Sometimes, if the images are scattered across different folders, they may not appear correctly in the photo viewer.
Repair or Reset the Photo App (for Windows 11):
Go to Settings > Apps > Photo.
Click on Advanced options.
Choose either Repair or Reset to address any potential issues with the Photo app.
Enable Thumbnail Previews (for Windows 10):
Open File Explorer Options:
Type "file explorer options" in the Windows search bar and select the first result.
Switch to the View tab.
Ensure that the option "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is unchecked.
Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
That is about all I can offer. If you repost, include brand and model.
