Are the batteries fully charged ?

The camera doesn't need a driver to transfer the pictures/movies to your computer. Windows should open a dialog box asking what you want to do. The only "driver" I found was from http://mitsubausa.com/support.htm
Both the DV500 and DV505 drivers listed under 'After01May 2008 are the same and look like the camera they are for is the same spec as the DV777

You can find a manual at http://mitsubausa.com/Download/manual/DV7/MANUAL_EN.pdf

This "manual" is identical to the one included with the camera.

In order to record, the camera needs to have a memory card installed. This particular camera needs an SD format card. If the camera does not have a card installed, the card is not properly formatted, or the card is full, you will not be able to record. Also, these cards have a write protect lock tab. Make sure that the tab is not in the lock position. The card should be formatted FAT32. If you can read the card on your computer, make sure it is not full and that the card is formatted FAT32. If you have another camcorder or camera that uses SD cards, you might want to try formatting the card, just to be sure.

If the green light on the charger is lit when the charger is plugged in, then the connection between the charger and the power supply is good. this is a fragile connection from what I have seen. check the wires right at the connector. The connector does not have any strain relief for the cable.

I suspect, however, that the problem is not the power supply/cable, but the charger itself. If you look closely at the 2 terminals that connect to the battery, you can see that they are just 2 tiny wires that can bend very easily if you are not extremely careful when putting the battery in. The terminals are supposed to spring towards the LED, not down. If you put the battery in by pushing down, instead of towards the LED, you will probably bend the terminals, preventing electrical contact. You can fix the bent terminals or get a replacement charger. replacement chargers are not cheap, but at least they work on a lot of different batteries, have a USB charging port and can charge 2 AA batteries. Lenmar BCUNI2 and Lenmar BCUNI3 are 2 suitable replacements.

I'm sure you do. Fixya, however, does not offer repairs - all I can suggest is that you contact your local electronic repair facility, or else the manufacturer.

I would suggest that to get a diagnosis of the fault that you take it to a reputable camera shop and get some idea of the problem
preferable a shop that sells that make of camera
