Carefully remove the back cover using a flat bladed screw driver. The battery can be spotted easily as it is centered and takes about two-thirds of the area. Do not remove the battery. Rather, you will see a point where the battery wires are connected to the circuit board around the bottom right of the A1 (assuming you put the A1 in an upside position, the camera lens being at the top). Try to loosen the plug by pulling the connector backwards using a small flat-bladed screw driver or even with your nails. Do not try to pull it back all the way, just enough to stop current flow. Make sure the battery is now disconnected by trying to turn the A1 on. Then, connect the A1 to a charger (I used a USB cable to draw power from my laptop). Now, reconnect the battery by plugging the connector back in. Now press and hold the power button until the screen turns on. The battery should be charging now.

You can't bypass it. You can only Hard Reset it, which scrubs it clean and reloads the operating system with no code. It is a standard Android OS Reset.
If your Digital 2 tablet doesn't have volume buttons, you can still perform a factory reset using the following steps:
Power off your tablet: Hold down the power button until your tablet shuts off completely.
Hold down the power and home button: Once your tablet is powered off, hold down the power button and the home button simultaneously. The home button is the physical button located on the front of your tablet, usually below the screen.
Wait for the recovery screen to appear: Keep holding down the power and home button until the recovery screen appears. This may take a few seconds.
Navigate the recovery menu: Once you see the recovery menu, use the touch screen to navigate the options. Select "Wipe data/factory reset" using the volume buttons on the screen.
Confirm the reset: Use the touch screen to select "Yes - erase all user data" and confirm that you want to perform the factory reset.
Wait for the reset to complete: Once you confirm the reset, your tablet will erase all user data and reset to its original settings. This may take several minutes to complete.
Restart your tablet: Once the reset is complete, your tablet will automatically restart. You'll need to go through the initial setup process again, like you did when you first got the tablet.
Please note that a factory reset will erase all of your data, including apps, contacts, and media. Be sure to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.
