it will take some effort to remove the housing of the laptop to be able to have access to the CMOS battery. usually a small coin battery. if you remove it the bios password will be reset to default

If the laptop has Windows 10 and you are trying to view videos with the default Windows media viewer, this is probably the problem. It is not very good at recognizing various video codecs, but does fairly good at audio ones. Try downloading VLC free viewer. It is no cost and works well.

it needs a new battery is most do now, even all. c855 is super old so is the battery right? 2012 made windows 8 right.? no battery lasted 10 years, so is bad. all are, both are. that means replace them or get the PC serviced in shop like most do.

learn to use your task bar speaker icon and open the player, and set the output you want. most PCs a mic hot and speakers hot both cause huge loud feeback so this is not allowed. the turntable my be acting as a mike ,see? got the manual on the turn table, and read about that:)? or use audacity to record to mp3. then play back the MP3./ the limits are the soundcard/chip and software drivers. some do not allow this, this turntable come with software, or is that lost.

The correct firmware is only available from the manufacturer. Go to toshiba.com, find your model number and download the latest firmware.

I found this There is no specific driver for this drive. You can use a generic driver, I've done it before but cannot recall the exact driver used. It was either a Teac or NEC driver. You must select the driver manually in the device manager and it seems like an odd selection but it does work. If I can locate any additional info I'll update this answer. • Anonymous Dec 09, 2021 in system ICON in Control panel see it is 32bit, it fooled you thinking the installer put 64bit on any 32bit only CPU. learn to use the System information page. see you were fooled in w10 , they moved system to settings pages, now. out of control panel for funs and kicks a guess., I bet device manager bleeds with errors I bet.
