I found a link to a site I have never used before, so use at your own risk. Opendrivers.com that claims to have the driver for download. The download link you want is halfway down the page, and requires that you enter a verification code first. Click here to go to that page.

Otherwise, You have two options that I know are safe. One, you may go to umax.com, select customer service, and request the driver software from them if it isn't available for immediate download..

Or you can go to one of the safest driver download sites I know of to search for it. Go to driverguide.com, create a free account, and search for umax astra 5600. A list of drivers will pop up: scroll through until you find the one you want. Good luck!

It seems that UMAX has not provided any driver for windows 7.
So, you can use the solution which has been provided by a fixya expert (s_4u_11 )before.

try downloading a vista compatible driver from the internet

i am going to through it to the face of retailer

i fyou are unable to find one for this unit i would suggest trying a walmart, kmart or radio shack for a universal dc adapter that can supply the correct voltage to the unit. they also come with universal ends. cost aroudn 20-40$USD.

your best bet these days it to buy a new scanner.

The UMAX download website (http://umax.com/download/index.jsp) lists a 4000U and a 4400, but no model 4100, and supported operating systems only run through Windows XP (no Vista or Windows 7). If you are running an XP or earlier O/S, I suggest that you contact UMAX Customer Service ([email protected]) to see if the software for one of their listed models will work with your 4100.

uninstall the all scanner driver have you installed then connect the scanner to your pc and switch on the scanner and check it detecting the scanner or what ..... if its detecting install the scanner driver ( or go to control panel ..>scanner and cameras open it then click i add device and fallow the steps ) ..... if its not detecting the scanner its may have the problem with the scanner connector or may with your pc usb port ...............

That problem is caused by dust or debris on the scanning "eye" itself. If you are confident in your skills, you can (UNPLUG FIRST) disassemble the scanner and use a microfiber cloth to clear anything on the light bar that scans your documents off.
