I am having a UMAX Astra 3600 scanner. I want to attach it to laptop. The software of scanner is not supporting Windows Vist. Kindly communicate the solution for it

Funny I was trying to get another scanner running in Lion and discovered that doing this worked with Lion and my Umax 2200. Go here and download and install these 5 packages. Now I was only able to get the scanner to work properly with the 600dpi setting. Other settings lower scanned the image in wavy. Don't forget to restart afterward and go to About this Mac and make sure that the USB connection sees the scanner. Once you do that. Sane Scan will show up in Printer/Scanner preference. Running Lion on a 3.2 quad core 1.1 MacProTower
