you have 2 options to connect to the router on the computer.. either wired or wireless-- if you are connecting wirelessly then just ignore "cable isnt connected" --you can change the icons so it doesnt show in CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS
If your trying to get on the internet with a
wireless connection.and running WINDOWS,(many problems with LINUX) .and have a
wireless router all set up and configured to broadcast the signal (not hidden) ....
try resetting the
router (disconnect the power to it for a few minutes) next --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---TRY IT NOW--if still problems---go to CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS--right click oin your
wifi card and choose properties--highlight
INTERNET PROTOCOL and choose properties and be sure "OPTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" is checked--Does the
laptop "SEE" the router?
You will need your SSID to logon to the router(
internet)
