Linksys Wireless Router re-set

To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button. To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. I cannot connect to my router

if none of your attempts to get to a login on your router works, I assume you are trying to gain access to the login with an established computer. If so, have you tried a second wired/established computer? If you have exhausted these means, you may have to factory reset it and possibly need a firmware update.

The router is very slow

Try changing MTU size on the router and see if that works.Connect the computer to the router.Open the setup page of the router. On the setup page you will see MTU. Change it to manual and size to 1365.Save the settings AND power cycle router.First connect the computer directly to the modem and make sure that your modem is working properly. If you are getting slow internet through the modem then you will need to contact your Internet service provider.Make sure that your router is running on the latest firmware.See How to upgrade firmware on the router. After upgrading firmware, reset and reconfigure it.

If I have an admin account on my home network, why do I keep getting the message that an Admin account is required to run Linksys advisor?

Depending on the User Account control , You may be logged in as an administrator but not allowing administrative access to the program. Usually Right clicking on the application could reslut in a RUN AS administrator...That should allow you to run the advisor. By default Administrator or not, is you try and run something that requires an administrator access ( registry changes.eg ) It will deny this default..
