On the systems menu Right click Control Panel, Systems, Hardware and finally Device manager. See if there's the audio comes with yellow question mark. If it is, right click on the item. You will prompted by your PC on what to do next. You can also check from the control panel, right click at the sounds and other audio devices, to see the setting of your speakers.

Why wont my computer recognize
Those speakers are meant to just plug into a sound card or onboard sound device or any sound device that has headphone jacks e.g. iPod. They don't provide feedback to the PC, so there is absolutely no need for drivers, which is why you don't see them in device manager. Think of them as a glorified pair of headphones.
New dell computer first time
have to connect the speaker connector in the green port and if u have already done tht ...double click on the speaker icon which is located on the right hand side bottom corner where u have the clock and make sure the master volume and the wave level is all the way up and than try if u still face the same issue ... go to control panel > system > hardware > device manager and there in the list u will see audio devices ... right click on them and delete them one by one and restart the system ... the devices will be detected automatically and wait for 10mins just to make sure its throough with the installation an than try it... it should work
My desktop pc wont recognise my speakers
Go to the control panel, open device manager, check the sound system. If you have installed a new O.S., then you will need to also install a new sound system. Perhaps it ac audio 97 or some other. Look for yellow exclamation mark or yellow question mark and right click on that and update drivers.
Hope that helps.
My computer wont detect my speakers!!!!!
Applogies for whoever the idiot is on other sarcastic solution, as it rears it's ugly head every now and then.
The problem won't be your speakers, but the sound or audio driver.
if you post your pc or notebook details and operating system back here, I will try to point you in the right direction.
My desktop speakers don't work.
What do you mean, "cleaned out my computer"? If you mean removing software then you've probably removed drivers for the audio hardware in your computer. If you got a "driver" disk with your computer, re-install the sound drivers and you'll be up n running in no time !!!
