Logitech X-230 Computer Speakers - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
No sound at all, but power on. Should I replace the phone jack?
Hi Hermann ,
This is a typical issue with Logitech speakers . You need to bring them back to the the dealer and get an exchange set for free replacement onder warranty . If the warranty has expired , you will need to solve the problem by testing the cables or the printcircuit inside the sub , BUT first connect your head phones or another speakers set to the correct output of your computer's soundcard to verify if the issue actually commes from the speakers . If the test is negative , the issue is to be found in the soundcard and you will need to replace it .
Best regards .
Broken green pin on logitech x230 can this be replaced
if the green pin is what plugs into your computer, a traditional, headphone 1/8th inch headphone jack, it can be replaced, however there is some soldering involved. Radio shack sells the replaceable ends for just a couple dollars. the only problem is knowing which wires to connect to which points on the new end. i would have to see the wire with the insulation stripped off to be able to tell you which are which
How do i open the sub-woofer unit?
the speaker is were you can access the inside. you need to gently pry the speaker mesh off the outer ring. then you will see the screws that hold that speaker on. most any type of glue will work. you will want to set it on its face until it has com pleated bonding.

Recently had computer re booted
If its since the OS has been re-installed it may not have the sound drivers installed. Check on the manufactures website to see if the have any drivers available for Windows XP. Depending on how old the computer is the drivers should be available.
To check if it is a driver is check in Device Manager.
Start > Right click on 'My Computer' and click on 'Properties' You will get a box come up. Click on the 'Hardware' tab. You will see an option for Device Manager. This will show you all the devices that the computer has and will show you if it has the device drivers for it.

Hi there,
Have you tried plugging it into a different power source. (ipod, mp3 player, etc)
Make sure that the volume is ok and the cables are connected to the tightly. Don't forget to check if your speaker has a source option as this will allow you to play from different sound sources but you would have to set where the sound is coming from.
Hope this helps!
