Canon EOS 600D Rebel T3i Digital Camera - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Canon t3i will not turn on without sd card?
This a situation the manual not even mentions. The red light on the bottom right of the camera is the memory access indicator. It should light green as I remember ok. And blink when it is writing to or reading from the memory. If it is red, it means : this is not ok.
This light is not a gadget. It should be taken serious. As long as it is burning, of flashing you are not supposed to switch of the camera or to remove the memory card. If you still open the memory compartment or switch of the camera or remove the battery, while the camera indicates I'n accessing the memory, serious damage can occur to the memory card.
You could lose all your pictures, because of it.
I would suggest, make sure your battery is charged correctly.
Format your memory card in a PC with FAT 32.
Check if al contacts in the camera are clean and shiny. (Battery and memory card contacts too)
The place the battery and the memory card in the camera and try switching it on again. If it should start, first do a format of the memory card in the camera before you starts taking pictures, of the camera has its own format and can make a folder.
You should be able to switch on the camera without a memory card inside. The camera will us the internal buffer, to let you take a picture in DEMO mode.
I hope the red light does not indicate your internal memory is corrupted. Because if nothing helps and the red light comes back, I think you should contact a Canon service centre.
When taking photos, the image is not captured when using liveview
Sure you are pressing the shutter realise button half, so the camera can focus?
Only when the middle AF-point (square in the middle) becomes green and you hear a beep, you can press the button compete to make the picture. With live view, you degrade your camera to a point and shoot. Focusing takes longer that way. Can be handy is special situations, but the focusing could be a pain, when you are used of taking pictures trough the view finder.
Video turns off durning video
Make sure your battery is fully charged. Read all the stuff I wrote about batteries last weeks. Lots of problems occur wham batteries are not ok anymore.
For taking a video, the camera needs extra power, because it is recording and the screen is on all the time. Thaking stills for a camera is like a walk. Taking Video is like running. So it is exhausted sooner.

Not sure this is enough, but here they come:Delete settings:Choose the wrench tab (top of the menu page) then choose delete settings. then press the (set) button.Delete camera settings:In the same menu tab, you also find delete the camera settings. There press the (set) button. This will change everything you ever changed in the camera, back to the initial settings. I could not find e general reset.
Flash do not pop up - camara
Are you sure you did setup your camera correct? If you are in automatic, and there is enough light, the flash will stay where it is. If you did put the camera in flash off mode, it will stay put too. What mode do you shoot your pictures?
Factory reset
You're in the wrong section. Remove any and all batteries and start from scratch and reset day date time etc.
Unable to insert the memory card
Does your memory card have a lock on it, if so unlock it. Some memory cards have a little slider on the side to prevent accidents from occurring. If yours has it, slide it up/down/left/right then try it again
I can not insert the memory card into my camera
Card slot should be on the right. Make sure you have the correct type of memory card. a SD SDHC or SDXC. They should be 1"x 1.25" or 25mmx32mm. Ensure there is no card in the slot. insert as per pic inside the door with cutoff corner end first and facing up.once securely in, to remove depress it a little and it should pop back out.Note if the card does go in but cannot be written to, there may be a write lock slide on the side of the card. up is unlocked. If you are still stuck then I would stop by a camera shop they should be able to sort you in seconds.
