Cannot connect to the internet using NetGear

I understand that you are not able to go online through your NETGEAR router (WGR614v8). I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. Since we are doing this online, it may require a few email exchanges before we can resolve the issue. Please be assured that I will do my best effort to help resolve your case in the least amount of time.
Regarding your concern, I would recommend you to please reset and reconfigure your router (MODEL NUMBER). It is in this context, please follow the procedure stated below to configure the router:
(I) RESET THE ROUTER:
At the back of the router you will find a small tiny hole (which has a small button inside it). Press the button with the help of a paper clip and hold it down for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, please release the button and power off the router for 5 seconds then power the router back.
(II) CONFIGURE THE ROUTER:
1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port of the router (isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available (LAN) ports. Please make sure that THERE IS NO DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN THE MODEM AND THE COMPUTERS (either using Ethernet cable or USB cable).
3. Power off the modem and the router after making the connections.
4. Power on the modem and wait for the lights to come on, then power on the router.
5. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
6. Access the router settings, by typing 'www.routerlogin.net', 'www.routerlogin.com' or 'http://192.168.0.1' in the address bar.

9. Select yes and click on next.
10. In case you get the message: 'You already have a valid Internet connection, do you still want to continue', click on 'YES'.
11. It should give you a 'Dynamic IP Detected'. Once you get 'Dynamic IP' click on Next.
12. On the next page, click on 'Apply'.
13. Once it has updated the settings click on 'Router Status' and check if there is any IP address under the Internet port.
14. If there is no IP address then please go back to 'Basic settings' from the left menu
15. Please select 'Use Computers MAC Address' from 'Router MAC Address' section and then click on 'Apply'.
16. Check for IP address again on the 'Router Status'. Once you get an IP address, please open up another browser window and try to access the Internet.
Check if you can go online on the computer hard wired to the router. Once you are able to go online. Please follow the instructions provided below to configure the wireless connection:
(III). LOGIN TO THE ROUTER:

6. Please click on ‘Start’ under Service Status and then click on ‘OK’.
Note:- If you have a wireless laptop and if you are unable to detect any of the wireless networks in the vicinity, please double-check that the wireless switch on the laptop is turned on. Wireless switch on the laptop may be a physical switch by the sides or may be a combination of keys from the keyboard. Please look for laptop manual or contact manufacturer of the laptop in case of any confusion regarding this.

I hope this answers your query. If you need any further help, please email us back so that we can continue to work on a solution.

Want to access my router to add another home pc to

What type of router is this? If it is the Netgear as shown then the default settings are Username: Admin Password: Password. If you have set these and do not know them you will probably have to reset the router to factory default by using a pen or small instrument and hold down the recessed reset button on the back for about ten seconds until the router resets. For older devices the password is 1234. I believe the IP address is 192.168.1.254. I would need a little more info to be certain. Hope this helps!!

Netgear wireless router

Most likely the router is not configured for dhcp or is not renewing to pull an address from your new provider. You will need to login to the router and check the WAN ip address settings. Choose dynamic ip address (it may be currently set for for static or another option based on your previous provider). Once you choose and save the settings, click to renew the WAN ip. If you were already set for DHCP and the address is correct, you may still have an issue with DNS,.. the DNS addresses may be incorrect or non existent. If you have doubts about DNS addresses,.. you may change them to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 (opendns) and they will work with most providers (including comcast)
I hope this helps,.. if you need details,.. please leave a comment and I can supply more.

How do i connect my ps3 to he internet. i dont

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase(or network key).
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless PS3 to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

Hope this allows you to resolve the issue.

Lost setup disk

Unless it asks for the disk, then contact the company that you're with but normally, you don't need a setup disk, the only thing that most discs that come with routers are used for is to show you how to connect it, but if you already know, you don't need it, but once you have the router connected you should have internet connectivity.
