NetGear Gateway Access Problem

No to warner's locking the modem. 192.168.0.1 is the correct address for accessing the options within the modem. incidentally the Motorola wireless modem works better. Go on line to Netgear technical service and they will guide you through the task of setting up the system.

NETGEAR AND UPNP

Yes your Router supports UpnP. http://kbserver.netgear.com/pdf/wg602v3_manual.pdfHere is the manual where I found the information. Once the manual is open ctrl+F will open a find window. In the find window enter UPnP and click enter on your keyboard. This will take you to the section explaining UPnp and how it works on your router.Good Luck!!

Hello, I have Netgear WG602 V4

I believe you are using the wrong IP. Try 192.168.0.1 instead. The way you can confirm is go to start>run type in "ipconfig" and press enter. Look for your gateway ipaddress. This is most commonly the IP you need to use to login to the router.

Its because it got reset

Sorry you will have to set it up again

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

hope this helps

Wirless connection wont connect to network.

On the WLAN world, exist a encryption key for connection. You will be able to see the "antenna", but until you enter the key you will not be able to access the network or the internet. First, disable the wireless security and try. Once you have verified the connection to internet then you add security. Use WEP.

I cant get to the gatway interface

It seems to be a hardware failure with the unit. Reset the AP using step below:

At the back of the router you will find a small tiny hole (which has a small button inside it). Press the button with the help of a paper clip. and hold it down for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, please release the button and power off the device for 5 seconds.

Check if you are able to access its configuration page using the steps below:

1. Connect the computer to the access point.
2. Click start button (extreme bottom left corner of the screen) on the computer.
3. Click Control Panel from the list.
4. Click on Network Connections.
5. Right click on 'Local Area connection' icon and click on properties.
6. Select Internet protocol TCP/IP from the list of components and click on properties.
7. Select use the following ip address.
8. Assign ip address as: 192.168.0.90 ; subnet mask as: 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway as: 192.168.0.227
9. Press 'OK' and 'close' the properties window.
Login to the access point page using the following steps:
1. Open a browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).
2. Access the router (usually http://192.168.0.227).
3. Login to the AP(User Name = admin and Password = password).

Rate it, if it helps.
