Apparently this is NOT a waterproof rifle scope. I would return it as you will have this same problem only worse out in the field. Buy a waterproof nitrogen filled rifle scope.

All goto scopes require you to do an alignment on 2 or 3 stars in the night sky-- or they will not find anything. Also the time, date, and site must be accurate-- and the tripod must be perfectly level.

Read the manual again-- and perform all of the setup steps. You can download a monthly star chart here for free:
http://skymaps.com/downloads.html

The alignment stars are ALWAYS the brightest stars in the sky and the first ones you can see when it starts getting dark.

NorthStar® Telescopes offer amateur astronomers state-of-the-art computer-driven location and tracking capability with simple, push-button control. With a built-in data base of 20,000 celestial objects, you simply call up your target on the hand-held control module, enter a simple "Go To" command and the NorthStar computer does the rest. Once locked on, tracking the object for prolonged viewing is automatic.
the idea is not to touch the scope but use the hand controller. so the answer is no. not recommended.

The image is INVERTED-- this is normal for all astronomical telescopes. No up or down in space!

Check the clock setting; it needs the correct time and date, as well as your location.

Yes, all astronomical telescopes show upside down images. No up or down in space, and more GLASS is required to right the image. This dims those faint objects in the sky.

However you can buy an ERECTING prism diagonal to use for terrestial viewing during the day time. Here is one:

Hello !
I had the same trouble. It's normal, you just have to put a lens to straight the image (it's use for terrestrial view).
