I have a Kicker 2500.1 monoblock amp. I am going

make sure that you get dual 2 ohm subs. to get a 1 ohm load, wire each sub in a series. that means the positive from one coil, connected to the negative of the opposite coil. then the other two leads will be your active speaker wires. that will give you a 4 ohm load for each sub. once all 4 are wired like this, you simply take all of the positive wires that you have left, and combine them at the amp. do the same with all of the negative wires. that will give you 1 ohm. just be extra careful to make sure every sub is wired exactly the same, otherwise your sound quality will be greatly reduced.
also, 2500 watts isnt as much power as these subs will take if wired together. it will still sound awesome, but I reccommend turning the level on your amp up just until you hear a bit of distortion, then back it off a hair. being slightly underpowered will cause you to have some distortion in your bass. playing distorted notes builds up alot of heat in the voice coils, and these subs are VERY sensitive to overheating.

Hi. my amplifier supplies 70watt

You can try bridging the amp but you need to know how low of an ohm load your amp can safely handle. Most amps are either 2 ohm or 4 ohm stable.

I want to add 18

add the rms power of the existing speakers, and the sub, then subtract this from the amp power rating (rms again) - at the rated impedance, and see if it is more or less than the amp output!

And the banana posts, subs are MONO and only use one channel from the amp! You need an rca to twin phono cable, then cut one of the phono (red & white) plugs off, connect the "screen" to one banana post and the centre wire to the other one.

Yes, but make "jumpers" of the SAME GAGE wiring to the each sub in series - BEFORE you go to the amp connections. Good Luck!

2 amps, 1 signal, will one work if the other doesn't?

You will have to have power to the first amp in the chain for sure so that the output signal will be there. Without power, there will be no signal.

Please help

Hi,
I don't think you can do that if your system was not designed for the additional speakers and a subwoofer. Your system is not a Home Theater surround sound system.
You could add the additional speakers by splicing the speaker wires but I wouldn't recommend it and it would not work like a true surround sound system.

Connecting 4 bass speakers to one amp?

If you have a 4 channel amp and 4 speakers and each speaker is connected to each of the 4 channels you are just fine.
A stereo amplifier has 2 channels, typically labeled left and right and each channel has an amplifier. A 4 channel amplifier has 4 amplifiers. With one speaker on each channel, there is one speaker on each amplifier. Audio amps are referred to as amps or amplifiers, although if they have more than one channel it would be more correct to call them something like 'multi-channel amplifier' or 'multi amplifier speaker driver'. Semantics.

Try this guide it should do the trick:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=1682&SID=0&CID=217-219&Language=1&query=gas+stations&FID=7277

If that doesn't work, just try downloading all the maps and installing them from scratch.

Your best bet is to reinstall the maps, from scratch. This will ensure that all the maps are included.

It does not inspire me with confidence in your abilities if you get confused between customers and their questions, so I will look elsewhere for answers.
Thanks anyway

Amp stereo hook ups

You need to run RCA cables from the RCA output jacks on the back of the Sony to the input RCA jacks of the Jensen amp. Then you need to run a wire that connects to the blue wire of the wiring harness on the sony to the "remote" or "turn on" terminal of the jensen. That is the wire that turns the amp on when the radio is turned on. It should be on the power wire terminal of the jensen along with the +B (positive) and the GND (ground) terminals. Those are the only ones that go from the Sony to the Jensen. You also need to have the speakers connected to the speaker jacks of the amplifier, and the power wires connected to the power terminal of the amp. The positive power wire needs to go to the positive battery terminal and the ground should be connected to the chassis of the car close to the amplifier. make sure the ground is connected to a clean bare metal part to make sure it is good.

Thats all, but you also need the proper guage wire and make sure no bare wire is exposed to any metal areas or the chassis of the car. You can get all of those things at anyplace that installs car audio. They can tell you the proper guage wire and they have the RCA cables to.

If you are not experienced at this type of installation you really would be better off lettng a professioanl do it for you. It is easy to wire something wrong and damage the amp and/or the receiver.

The wires also need to be run in a place that they will not be damaged and are out of the way.

Ihope this helps you, and please be careful. Help is here if you need it.

If you found this information to be helpful a rating of "FixYa" would be appreciated. It is the only reward we get for the free help we offer.

Thanks,

Dave

Speaker wiring

No degradation. The smaller the ohm, the better the signal ( least resistance ). You and your system should be fine.

Connecting speakers

I have never heard of this brand of amplifier.. but NEVER hook up unequal ohm loads to a amplifier. the only way i could think to do it would be to hook up 1 of each sub on each side... what way you are spreading out the ohm load equally on both sides but again if you dont do your math and you run too low of a ohm load you WILL smoke that amp..
