The problem is most likely caused by a bad magnetron, there are two additional parts that can be a factor, the high voltage capacitor and diode. Chances are the repair will exceed the cost of a new microwave oven.

They are a very basic microwave. I expect you will find the diodes and/or magnetrons are faulty.

Plastic will melt but the door frame is metal and will not. So there is no safety issue here, just looks.
One could replace the door assembly if required. I would leave the door open after convection cooking to let the heat escape without heat build up causing the plastic to mishape.

Go and talk to them, it's obviously not fit for purpose and in the circumstances they should replace it.

They offer a years guarantee and that's what you have had but you also have rights under the sale of goods act. for the item to be merchantable quality which it is not.
Ask to see the manager, be polite and firm.

The problem seems to be with the door switch-latch assembly that is bad and needs replacement, as the fan and lights work so it seems that the fuse & control are fine rather it is the door switch that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Take it back to your supplier and get a new one.
