Sub zero lights not working
Probably a bad light switch. Would need some more info to say for sure though. Model? in the fridge or freezer section?

Ice drawer railing, how to install
You'll have to pull both rails and the ice bucket carriage out as a unit, put the 3 parts together as they would sit in the freezer, then put all 3 back in as a unit. The glue probably won't hold, that rail is only about $25 from subzero. You don't even need the right one, almost never see it break for some reason.

Loose door handle
if this is a style with an aluminum handle that runs top to bottom of the fridge door, then you have to remove the metal strip in the center of the door handle. It is held by magnets. the best way to remove it without damaging it is to put a piece of electrical tape in the very center of the metal strip, and pull on it gently. it should lift it away from the handle then you can get your finger behind it to pull it the rest of the way off. DONT BEND IT or you will be buying a new one. Once they are even slightly tweaked, they will never stay on. Under this strip are the screws holding the handle on. Tighten them then tuck the strip you removed into the bottom then the top trim and just let it snap back into place.

Freezer not functioning properly
I believe you need the
Sub-Zero Service Manual to answer your questions. Your model is listed in the manual which explains how to cause the forced defrost electronically. I believe it is done through the keyboard as defrost on your refrigerator in electronic and not done with a typical defrost timer that you will turn. I may be able to answer a few of your questions, Thanks John Tripp

Insulation breakdown
Hi.
I have not seen a subzero unit that could not be repaired, even thirty years old unit can be repaired. With that being said, I would call subzero directly to ask for a certified servicer in your area to take care of your unit. Here is a link for their website to help you
Contact and Support they will get you a person knowledgeable to correct your issue. FYI not everyone can work on SubZero unit. This unit if 12 1/2 years old is just a teenager to this manufacture, no worries. They can last over 30 years, I have seen them and repaired them.
I am here if you need help in SoCal. I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Water shutoff valve
The shut off valve is part of your house. The fridge doesn't have one, so it's entirely up to whoever designed your plumbing. Could be in the wall behind the fridge, in the floor under the fridge, in the utility room downstairs, under the kitchen sink, really anywhere. I spend a lot of time hunting for them on service calls myself. They are all different, sadly. Good Luck!

The top shelf of the crisper drawer on my Subzero
No, but you will have to replace that entire glass shelf, as it is not sold in pieces. there is a rubber seal on the back of it that slides out. That may not come with it and you may have to transfer it over. Good Luck!

Too easy to open my sub zero refrigerator right
Does it have a dispenser? Is it still cold inside? The fridge side is not nearly as hard to open as the freezer side, and that is normal...especially for models that have an ice and water dispenser.

Service light keeps flashing
Any error codes with that light? what's the model number? The computer is trying to tell you something is wrong, but without a code and a model number, it is impossible to tell what. Let me know if you can get some more information.

Door won t stay shut
Hate to say it, but that could be anything. I would start by emptying the fridge, shelves, drawers and all and seeing if it closes. 9 times out of 10 I see something obstructing it. If that doesn't doo it, then the door closer may be bad. They have 2 styles on this unit depending on age. either 2 white plastic cams that can break and "squish" out from between the 2 halves of the bottom hinge, or a closer arm that has lost it's tension and needs to be replaced. That would be rare, but it can happen. I have also seen one instance where the pair of switches at the bottom of the door have gotten so hard to push in, that they hold the door open. push those in by hand and make sure they don't resist too much. The other thing that can cause this is a sagging door. the lower hinge can bend or sag and the whole door droops then doesn't allow it to line up correctly with the box. look for signs of that too. Hope this helps.

Light on fridge side won't light until you jiggle the switch.
You have a faulty switch obviously , locate the model of your fridge and supplier , you can do this yourself , you will need tools , screw driver, Phillips head screw drivers and pliers.
Make sure the fridge is totally disconnected from the wall socket please !!

Replace power cord
Do you need to replace the power cord? It depends on the model how you would do it.
