Neither of the two remotes will open the door. The
Hello there,
Do you hear any kind of sound in the unit when you press the remote like the motor running but the door is not opening? If you do, then it means the remote was programmed successfully and is operating the liftmaster, the blinking light proves that for you.
If you hear the motor sound like running but the door will not open, then it means there is a problem inside the unit of the liftmaster and is not a problem with the remote.
The problem simply is that, in the liftmasters unit, there is a rubber that is between the mechanism that supports the door to open and close, if the rubber is worn out, it will not open the door, you will only get the blinking light like the door is supposed to open but it will not open.
Have the rubber in the mechanism checked and replaced, when that us done, the door will respond to the remote.
If the remote does not open the door and all you get is light flashing on the unit, it means there is a problem somewhere. The number of time the light flashes is a code for the kind of problem you are experiencing. The list below is the number of time it flashes and the problem is in front of it.
1 ---The Protector System wire open or totally misaligned
2---the Protector System wire shorted or black/white wire reversal
3---Door Control or Multi-Function control Panel wire shorted
4---IR sensor slightly misaligned (dim or flashing sensor LED)
5---Motor overheated/Possible RPM sensor failure -- unplug to reset
6---Motor circuit failure -- replace RX/LX board
Rapid Flashing---Liftmaster transmitter with the correct format code being received
(opener not necessarily programmed to respond)
Check The Protector System. Both sensors must be aligned or aimed across the door opening without any beam obstruction. Remove any obstruction or align both sensors.
Check for spider webs and/or dirty lenses. Wipe clean.
Make sure both LED lights are solid on each sensor housing.
Check safety sensor wiring and connections to the power head unit. Repair as necessary.
Check for diagnostic flashing code "1". Located at the power head unit.
Try replacing safety sensors. Retest.
All the best

Dominator garage door opening system - no remote and remains open
Try this first before calling a repair company. When the door is finished moving and it is open release the handle that disengages the door from the actuator and then close the door by hand. then re engage the handle and operate the door. If everything works fine after that, there is no need to call for a repair.
