Ricoh GR-1 35mm Point and Shoot Camera Questions & Answers
On loading a fresh film into the camera the motor
That's entirely correct. Your camera winds all of the film out upon loading and each shot then winds the film back into the canister. Your frame counter works in countdown mode telling you how many shots remain rather than how many you've taken.
Many other camera do the same thing. The beauty of it is twofold: if the camera back is accidentally opened, then the shots already taken are safely in the film canister (except for the last shot), also when the film has finished you wait less time for the short length remaining to be rewound rather than the entire roll.

Can i use any 9 volt battery in the kodak k12? If
Yes, usually there is a sticker inside the battery chamber that shows the correct orientation of the contact. If stick is missing, the contact go in first. If the camera wont work, turn the battery over and try again If a new battery wont work at all the camera may be gone.
Camera top display is inoperable.
Well if everything else is working then either this display has a broken/loose connection to it or the display itself is burnt out. Either way, it is not worth fixing unless you want to open it up since buying a new camera would be in your better interests rather than paying for someone to open it or just using it as is since everything else is working on it. Let me know how this turns out.

Moisture and electronics dont mix. You can take it apart very carefully and air dry it for 24 hours. Sometimes corrosion eats at the solder points or causes a short between two points. If you like taking things apart, you can check and clean the board and battery compartment with alcohol and a q-tip. The biggest issue is not to try to use it until all moisture is gone from it. If you are not confident taking it apart, a service tech will do it. But just basically removing the screws and opening it can be done at home too very easily. Leave the battery out while it dries too. If the circuit board is very corroded, then there is not much that you can do except to have a professional clean it for you. Good Luck
Hi
My Ricoh Caplio R7 camera
I have had the same problem.
Here where I live is a renouned camera repairman.
I took it to him and received the bad news.
He said the "frame" was bent , and it could not be repaired.
It needed to be replaced.
I am really suspicions yours may be also.
We here at "fixya" have no prices or parts for anything.
We are only a consulting group of people.
God bless your efforts.
How do I clean inside a Ricoh rikenon 70mm to 200mm zoom lens.
Unless you have a lens collimator and other equipment to ensure proper alignment when you reassemble the lens, don't even think about taking the lens apart. Take the lens to a reputable camera shop and let a qualified and properly equipped tech handle the cleaning.
