Top 20 Lewmar V700 Vertical Windlass - 12V 1/4" W Questions & Answers

I would check the wire leads off the windless to switch and from switch to battery (typically ground) During times of extreme load thoes thick wires heat up expand and contract and might loose a little contact or corrosion. Thoes windlesses are pretty bullet proof and very rarely have i seen one break. So I don't think its the winch itself. I would start there. Good luck Aloha

Pins are splayed on the end to keep them from coming out. Remove entire hinge or drill out pin and replace, remembering to peen the end again.

RT is normally reserved for transmitting, this is a receiver. Or is it linked to a two way transceiver and automatically cuts out music for telegraphy transmissions coming in?

I can't find the manual for it. The reviews at the lower part of the page suggest it is a bargain basement unit. I have a Jenson :>)

This is probably the best route to take. Get the Service Manual if you intend to do your own servicing.

This shows wiring thumbnails but don't lead the the wiring diagram

I think there is a nut holding the prop to the shaft and there might be a shear pin going through the prop and shaft. Remove those to get the prop off. It may have been on so long, there might be rust and other junk holding it on. Spray with penetrating oil and let sit to loosen the rust.

In demo mode, it will show fish and bottom details when the transponder is out of water. If the boat is in a mooring, put a metal spade under the transponder, you should see the detail change.

Winterizing is fairly easy. You can put the lower unit in a mix of water and antifreeze and run it to get all the water out and replaced with antifreeze. Next you can either spray fogging oil in and add fuel stabilizer to your gas tank.

Sounds like one of the pins on the cable from your transducer is bent where it plugs into the back of the unit. check that first, then ensure the plug is all the way in. If it's not that, it's possible a wire is broken in the cable. You could try the wiggle test. With the unit on, have someone watch the screen and wiggle the wire that you can reach working from one end to the other. if the screen flashes or changes while you do this in a certain spot, there's your problem. This kind of problem usually comes from the wire being tight where it goes around a corner. Heat and vibration will finish the job

If you are really interested, check to see if a library has this book : Chronometer Makers of the World by Tony Mercer. It should have info on the year of manufacturer.
