Sorry for the trouble you are having. It seems the camera is functioning somewhat with ac cord hooked on. You want to make sure you can take picture with power cord consistently without fail. I worry because you mentioned multiple problems for the camera and it is not good sign that camera is good for the reliability. You may want to borrow a backup camera from a friend just in case. If all symtoms you've decribed is correct, camera need full repair by a technician and maybe beyond economical.

have you tryed to take the memory card from the camera and putting it in the computer?

If you copy the files from CD whoever you send it to needs a DIVX plug in to view the videos. That can be loaded for free at DivX.com

Unless you have video editing software in your computer that can read the files and convert them into another file format for you that would be the other option.

In order to view video off of that camera, everyone needs Divx software.

It is available for free at www.divx.com

You might want to try a new battery for it.

Before you do that, plug the camera into the charger and see if if opens. If that works, you need a new battery. It isn't charging anymore.

There should be a small slide tab on your memory card which locks it. Please slide that tab to the unlocked position and this should fix your issue with a locked memory card.

I assume you mean when ever you switch the flash off. This is because there is not enough light for the particular setting the camera is on and the images are blurred because of the long exposure is causing camera shake. Check the menu and see in you can select a higher ISO figure- Say 400

This can be a broken shutter cable inside the lens. Toes it still make the "click" (not from the speaker)?

be sure your lense and autofocus sensors are clean first thing.. then push the take picture button half way and it will autofocus. Pressing hte take picture button fully then will snap the picture.

Go into settings menu and format the card

If you have a computer, insert it into the card reader,l select it and format with your computer

The 401 takes MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller.

Not sure what type or model of camera you have. But most camera's have a Mode dial. The best thing to do is to turn that dial to the little green camera logo. That is the automatic mode. If you have chosen the moon and star, you only can make pictures in bad light situations.
