Router cannot forward tcp requests to linux box if it has a http server already running on the same port. Make the router's web server listen on a different port.

You do not have to use the cd.
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

Are you connecting using a cable or wireless. Also post the ip address that you are getting. To get ip
start-run-type cmd-in the command window type ipconfig.
also post the firewalls or antivirus programs that you are using.

Echolink uses UDP protocol, you sure you're not opening ports for TCP protocol? There may be other ports that need access as well, google "echolink firewall rules" for more help.

there should be a reset button somewhere on the router. If you plug it in and press and hold this button for a few seconds then reinstall the software for the router and create new network settings and it should work.
