there are many tuning pods ,which one do you need? modulation is vr-4

when you use the PA function you have to hook up another speaker so that the sound comes out when you talk

the person is talking about a cobra 38wxst and you guys give him information on a cobra 25,but the information is solid as to what is said Check your SWR ,Make sure your squelch is open,check for dust on the knobs , and then take it to a tech and let him fix it because a receive alignment is more sensitive then a tx alignment.

There are a few different things that can cause this problem. 1: If it is a power microphone (a microphone that requires a battery). Try replacing the battery. 2: Broken wires that go from the microphone to the plug that plugs into the radio.You can try gently taking the plug apart and inspecting the wires. If only one has come loose, you can re solder it to the pin it came from. If more than one has come loose, find a wiring schematic for the radio that tells which wire goes to which pin and re solder appropriately. 3:Have the SWR's checked on the antenna. If the SWR's are to high and the radio has been being used in this fashion, it could have burned up the transmit finals in the radio. If this is the case, you will need to take it to a reputable radio repair facility to have fixed.

I will answer the question. Figuring that 10 amps is continuous not peak. 10 amp multiplied by 12.5 it should be good for 125 watts. But you are on the ragged edge. I do agree you should lower dreaded key but you did not ask that question. But a swing kit will solve that. That is amusing SSB and the 80 watt cobra 29 comments.

i would highly suggest you take it to a cb shop to get a cb tuned and peaked. before you do that though, make sure you have a good antenna system. a good antenna will have a much greater effect on your cb than tuning and peaking. as far as output, who knows? it all depends on the skill of the person doing the tuning. be warned that any output over 4 watts is illegal and you could recieve hefty fines if caught with an illegal radio.

was it already installed or did you set it up ? If its a talk back that is an s.m.d. then it is usually controlled by the rf gain and the delta tune .Some will mount it to be controlled by the mic gain.Others try it out by attaching a resistor to the PA and external speaker plugs on the back of the radio. you may have to use a bigger resistor or even a smaller resistor to get it to work the way you want it to .

there is a knob on the front of the radio the says RF GAIN. Turn it all the way to the right and you RF GAIN is at its max

because when you tried to modify the radio for more power and audio you turned the wrong coil and can.

what else did you do to mess up this radio.

just buy a remote one that hooks to the antenna output and the antenna hooks to it. Save your radio. If you sold it and the person you sold it to didn't want a toy then you would have to remove it.this way you can remove the toy and use it on another radio,or sell it too.

TR23 is a bigger transistor toward the fron left of the radio. Cant miss it. It is near the Mic Connector. That is a Voltage regulator.

No more than 2.5 SWR.

That is your "SWR TOO HIGH" warning light. Check the SWR of your antenna.

You must set the SWR on your Antenna. There is a little more than just pluggin it in. What type of antenna do you have?
