I found a iQue M5 in my office with a dead
Hi, well these are extremely delicate instruments, indeed. When the battery goes Flat, it can and does cause a plethora of problems compounded by the fact that the "Internal" battery was also somewhat "dead'. When this type of thing happens it can screw up the contents of the internal memory. This in turn causes the device to refuse to power up properly.
But, IF you have replaced successfully BOTH batteries, and you are sure they are OK, Then maybe it will be possible to update or the like via, the internet, if you can hook up to a PC, and run the Garmin software and see if it will update and this may remedy your situation.
However the most cost effective and practical way to effect a repair with a device such as this is to simply return the unit to a local Garmin center, and they will perform a quick, inexpensive repair, with a warranty too.

Garmin iQue M5, Not aquiring satellites
Two possibilities - Antenna (in power cable) or electronics related to antenna. First, do a hard reset. Place the pen top into the RESET hole for 3 seconds...
Next, when the unit is powered, page over to the screen showing satellite signal strength....
If NONE appear within 1 minute (and you are outside and NOT under trees), you have an antenna or antenna interface issue.
Garmin WILL repair the unit for 3 to 4 times its value... A 265WT GPS is cheaper, faster and more accurate. The IQUE is no longer worth repairing....

The GPS appears to be stuck on & this drains
Sounds like the spaghetti cable for the antenna is broken or has become unsoldered.... but to confirm...
Remove the reset probe from the top of the "pen" and insert it in the Reset hole in the back of the unit....
After the unit comes up, simply page over to the "obtaining satellites" page and see if you are getting signals. Of course you MUST be outside and you must NOT be under trees.
If no satellite data is received within 1 minute, your antenna (or its interfacing circuit) is not functioning.
At that point, repair is almost not worth it. You can get a new GPS for well under 100 bucks.... and Garmin will not even Look at your unit for that sum of money.
Battery drains in sleep mode
most GPS will drain in sleep mode unless on some slow charge. Everything is actualy working inside except the screen Like the TV standby.. no picture or sound but chews up the power

You need to hard reset the unit. To do this;
With the unit off > Remove the back cover of the unit > Remove the battery > Replace the back cover > Sync the unit in the cradle without the battery inserted > Replace the battery > Replace back cover.
*Please note all saved data will be lost.

2nd, if you can post a Photo of the monitor and the lines that you speak about perehps somone will understand it better
3rd, Can't you see anything in the monitor?
Active Sync USB OK but City Navigator won't find device.
Somewhere I read that if you do a soft reboot to the iQue M5 it will connect to the City Navigator. I did this and it seemed to work, although between downloading and uploading I had to do it again. The process of loading map set (entire US) took an extremely long time (about 3 hours). Also, if you try to receive maps, waypoints and tracks from device all at once, it chokes.

Make a sprite backup to an SD card before changing battery. If you lose data just restore it from the backup.

DONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.BUT WHEN THAT WINDOW POPS UP ,CLOSE THE SAME WINDOW USING X IN TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER THEN LEAVE.SCREEN SHOULD CHANGE TO( INITIALIZING MAPS) ONCE AGAIN LEAVE ALONE UNTIL THIS WINDOW CLOSES ITSELF,COULD TAKE A WHILE,WHEN IT CLOSES THEN MACHINE SHOULD BE BACK TO NORMAL.

Garmin nuvi 50LM cant access on mtp settings
To open the MTP settings on your Garmin Nuvi 50LM, you will need to access the device's menu. From the main menu, select the "Settings" option and then select the "System" option. From there, you should be able to access the MTP settings. If you are still unable to access the settings, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Garmin 120 wont turn on
Hi Earl,
Sometime it could just be of aging. I have a 130, it was having similar problems, until i realized it was the screen not showing, but power on turning on. In your case, I probably probably try a hard factory reset as follows:
To perform a master reset:
- Turn off the device.
- Press the PAGE, ENTER2, and POWER buttons simultaneously.
- Release all buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears.
- Select Yes.
