GE 32GT720 32" TV Questions & Answers
2005 32-inch GE color television--the
Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

POSESSED TV//SOUND MUTES M-F @ 9:30 AM//NEVER ON SAT OR SUN//HELP
Hi doncat01,
Many stations broadcast seperate audio channels to allow commentary or alternate languages to be heard if desired. If this setting has been altered in your television, it would explain why this happens on schedule, as it would be associated with the programming at that time. I recommend navigating your audio settings and looking for "SAP." If this is selected, turn it back to "Stereo," "Mono," or whatever other option is applicable to your audio setup.
Thank you,
Jason,

Tryin to turn the tv on
Depending on the model # you have a bad flyback transformer . Most of these sets only have the generic available . When i would fix them the average cost would be between $85 to $110 . The original would cost more but ask them if it is an original transformer when you get it serviced.
Need help trying to figure out what's wrong.
Apologies up-front, because I know this isn't the kind of advice you were asking for.
I'm a great fan of people having a go at fixing things for themselves, and wouldn't normally push the safety whinge much further than "don't forget to turn it off before you start poking around inside".
BUT TVs ARE DIFFERENT. There's bits of a TV that can give you a fatal shock long, long after you've switched them off.
If you're really as TV illiterate as you say you are, my advice would be to leave the thing alone, and live to mend something else another day.
Sorry to be such a pain - I'm a professional Electrical Engineer and have worked with all manner of dangerous machinery in my time - but opening up TVs still gives me the creeps.

Trying to find model number on my GE universal remote so that I can get codes for my converter box
Locating the model number on a GE universal remote can vary depending on the specific model. Here are some general tips to help you find the model number:
- Check the Battery Compartment:
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote.
- Look for a sticker or label inside the compartment that may contain the model number.
- On the Remote's Front or Back:
- Check the front and back of the remote for any labels or markings that might indicate the model number.
- User Manual or Packaging:
- If you have the user manual or the original packaging, check there. The model number is often mentioned on these documents.
- Behind the Battery Cover:
- Remove the battery cover and inspect the area behind it for any labels or markings that include the model number.
- On the Remote's Body:
- Inspect the body of the remote itself. Some models may have the model number printed on the front or sides.
Once you locate the model number, you can then proceed to find the correct codes for your converter box. The codes are usually included in the remote's manual or can be found on the manufacturer's website. If you are unable to find the model number or the manual, you may need to contact GE customer support for assistance.
If you provide more details about your GE universal remote, I might be able to offer more specific guidance.

Need codes FOR GE UNIVERSAL RC 24914-D TO CONNECT MY roku express
Yes, you can use a GE Universal Remote RC24914-D to set up your Roku Express box. To do this, you'll need to find the correct code for your Roku Express device and program it into the remote. Here's how:
- Turn on your Roku Express device.
- Locate the "Code Search" button on your GE Universal Remote. This button is usually labeled "Code Search" or "Setup."
- Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the indicator light turns on.
- Enter the code 9-9-1. The indicator light will blink twice.
- Point the remote at your Roku Express device and press the "Power" button. If the device turns off, you have found the correct code. If it does not turn off, repeat steps 3 to 5 with a different code until you find the correct one.
- Once you have found the correct code, press the "Code Search" button again to save the code.
The codes for the GE Universal Remote RC24914-D can vary depending on the version, so it's possible that the code 9-9-1 may not work for your device. If that's the case, you can try other codes listed in the remote manual or on the GE website.
I hope this helps you set up your Roku Express device using your GE Universal Remote.
