What is the fly back part number for ge 31gt740
There is three numbers are used with model to model. It will differ according to chassis fitted with it. All chassis number will be the same, but the layout will have some difference, and company does it meant for advanced performance. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic
" or "Magazine
" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".
Schematic diagrams to some GE sets are given, that I can't upload by this window. Refer it. You can make sure about this detail, by contacting the authorized service center for GE; providing the exact model and chassis number.
How can i fix a rca tv, mod. 27v412t cuts on and off?
this kind off problem is related in power circuit board or may be the main board ,kind of electronic problem, not mechanical ,related with electrolytic capacitor, may be two or three or one, this is dried up capacitor,or devalued capacitor in rating or leaky capacitor,or broken leg capacitor, one pin break in the bottom of capacitor main causes are heated up capacitor or had power serge or getting aging old dried up electrolytic capacitor ,because these capacitor not functioning ,therefore no enough voltage for on off TV function,so TV wont come on,some times come on,some time press power button lot of time , then come on,now it wont come on at all completely, these look like symptom of intermittent power button fault, peoples think that button have only the problem and replaced the power switch only and TV should work normal ,but deep down work needed in circuit board trouble shoot and repair work needed.,to make TV operate normally again, main circuit board to be checked power supply electrolytic faulty capacitor should be sort out and be replaced with good one same value and rating.
GE GEMSTAR WONT POWER ON
Older set and prone to bad High Voltage Transformers and other problems--may or may not be worth repair---if won't come on anything from a fuse to a major part and some parts just may not be available any more for this model.
I have a GE guide+
your have problem with the system IC's which store the channel and all the control in the TV or it can be remedy by soldering the pin of the IC's if the problem persist well your have to replace that system.
I have a GE 31" GT740 and it is turning the volume
The problem of your tv is the tact switch it is already dirty and contacts. The vibration of the sounds triggering the tact switch when the sound is producing a bass. Replacing the tact switch will resolve the problem. Good day and best regards.
I own a GE 31gt740
I think that the problem of your tv is the flyback transformer. The noise you are hearing is the high voltage, it is leaking from the flyback transformer. The smoke you see may came from the flyback or the capacitor. To be sure to the problem, try to remove the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug it. Try to plug it, then turn on your tv but you should turn of the light so you could see the high voltage that is leaking but be very careful when doing it.
I have a GE model
The noise probably came from the flyback transformer or in the chopper transformer. This will trigger when out-of-regulation condition happened in the power supply section. The caused of the symptoms was a faulty electrolytic capacitor in the said section. In the very first stage of the problem, warm-up will make itself stable but it will get worst like what you've encountered right now. The puff of smoke was came from this faulty capacitor which is now shorted and disable the power supply section.
You can easily identify this on the board because it has a bulged/dome at the top. Replacing it with same capacitance and working voltage will cured the symptoms but not all, sometimes other parts gone bad also.
If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't
troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional
to isolate the problem.
Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty
period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the
back cover will void the warranty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
Why does my tv power
H, the issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.
The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board.
I do not think it needs replacement, rather some defective capacitors are causing this issue.
Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.
The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)
You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.
What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).
You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors).
After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored.
Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.
I have a GE 31GT740
I would be concerned with the vertical IC. This IC has pins that have separated from the board itself. You will note the area under the vertical IC is almost black. It will do no good to resolder this. You will need to replace the vertical IC with a new one. And be sure to replace those electrolytic capacitors near and next to the vertical IC. Bad grounds on the this IC will cause your TV to shut down. Also inspect the rest of the TV board. In some cases the retrace cap will always need resoldered! But please inspect all areas of this board for bad grounds and resolder as necessary! Good solid grounds will give you a dependable set. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!
31 GT660 TV
If the menus are clear then the color decoder (the part that decodes the NTSC signal in the RGB signals needed for the video final) has died. Since this decoder is part of a larger circuit, it will have to be replaced in full .
This circuit has 64 tightly packed pins and it's in a very crowded part of the mainboard - replacing it will require a a lot of soldering expertise - this is definitely not a job for an amateur, you better call a pro. Luckily the circuit itself is quite cheap (around $15) so the entire job will be in reasonable limits - around $120.
The picture is distorted and blury
thats is from the degaussing circuit you will need a degaussing coil to demagnatizing the picture tube you will need atech to do it
its an hour job max..
hope that will hell you
Tv turns itself off and on
There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try.
1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?
Good luck with your problem...I hope you can work it out.
