I suggest you try eBay. You may have to look for a month or 2, but there are usually brains up there once in a while. Some tested good, and some unknown (you take your chances). Your price will be much cheaper than if trying to replace it with a new one.

I have seen problems in the hideaway (brain) where 8v reg circuit fails causing higher voltage(12v to 14v) to be on that 8v line. First component to fail is the Tuner followed by electronic volume ic. I have probably seen 6-8 failures where tuner fails. Fix is to replace tuner and replace open chip resistor in Hideaway box to restore 8v regulator to proper voltage. [email protected]

All of the Compatible Kenwood Units will have Bluetooth Printed on the Face in Small Letters. If yours Does not, Go to Crutchfield.com and they will have the Connectors that you need for this to be done. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Hi. The unit is overheating, and in most cases, depending on the car model, you will be able to fit a computer-like cooling fan underneath the receiver pointing outwards in order to help the unit cool down a little better, and prolonging the unit's operation. Usually a double-din aperture is just perfect for these improvements. If your radio mount is a single-din opening, then is gonna be a pain in the back to do something about it. Narrow spacing means overheating, especially when heat doesn't have anywhere to go, packing in the system, ergo, shutting it down for conservational reasons. Go to you nearest car audio store. They'll be able to help you out.

Hi. You can go to the dealership or ex-owner you bought it from and get the actual code for it. Or go to the Manufacturer dealer (in this case, kenwood, i believe) and ask for a unit reset. They will be able to help you out.

you need to have it on CD-DVD when playing. If you have it on video it show the video but you won't have any sound. Push the SRC button in the bottom left corner to change it from video to CD-DVD. Thats what I have to do to mine anyways. Hope it helps

I would be willing to bet you have a 8v regulator circuit failure in hideaway Box. I have seen many of these units where a resistor opens and causes 12v instead of 8v to appear at tuner and a few other IC's. Usually But not always destroys tuner.
