Kenwood KDC-519 CD Player Questions & Answers
Sir,
Model : KENWOOD BT CD/R
default pin from the factory is "0000" if you have changed it from the default you will have to push the reset button on the unit and it will return to factory presets on all settings.
My door speakers wont play
Hello
Check the speakers first. Then check the wiring. There are Front Right, Front Left, Rear Right, Rear left speakers and supply, antenna, etc are connected by one pin to a socket. Check this pin&socket for rigid connection. Unplug and replug it two or more times, so that if there is any loose contacts with this socket and pin connections will be rectified. If this does not help you, check the internal connection of this socket, This is actually a skilled work, you have to open your player. The fault is surely with this socket and pin connections itself. Work out with concentration. Check the door speakers first before doint anything further. If you fail to detect the fault, let it retified by any auto-electrician. No internal circuit fault to this set is there. OK.
Problem
its too bad when they made these radios they didnt include a secret way to reprogram the code. i've had this many times and the only way we can correct this problem is for a servicer to buy a service manual< (unless you take the radio to an authorized dealer)Find out the part #@ for the eeprom Ic and (newer radios I am told the code is stored inside the main microprocessor)order the chip- and install the IC into the radio all for a cost of between 65 to 100 bucks!! Im also told a dealer has a way to retrive the info you need but they cannot do it unless they make sure your the owner of the radio by a bill of sale or check with the local police to see if the serial # is on the hot sheet. They akso wont retrive any info on a radio with a scratched off serial # Go to a local dealer and have them retrive the info for you or sorry to say it may not be worth it. as abd warehouse I seen last weekend had Kenwood radios w cd for 129.00 and Up INSTALLED!! Good Luck

there is a button under the back of the face in one corner, just press around the back of the face with the car on until you feel the button press in and it should open.
If not you may have a bad ribbon cable that is not too expensive to replace.
Kenwood KDC-519 Faceplate Problem
Detach the faceplate and look at the electrical contacts on the back of it for damage/dirt - you can spray it with electrical contact cleaner. Do the same to the contacts on the head unit - it sounds to me like one or more of them are a bit loose or otherwise not working properly.
No sound thru cd player
are you using any separate amp?- if you are the blue wire on the back of the radio is probably turning off when you use a cd(the blue wire is for a power antenna, the blue with a white stripe is for an amp)
Replacing the Front ribbon/cable
it's not that hard, if you can find the ribbon cable online or from the manufacturer you've done the hardest part already.... just take the deck apart, disconnect the old ribbon cable from the main board, and practice reconnecting it first, then connect the new one. If you're good at tinkering and taking things apart it should be no trouble at all. Good luck!!
Problem with face plate.
Check the ribbon cable the one connects the face to the main board, ussually that's where the problem is.
You can get it from pacparts.com parts number is J84-0121-12
You need to have some soldering skills to replace it.
Good luck

I once had the same problem and took it in to have it looked at! The guy simply pushed in the small black button to the left of the ATT button and it reset!
Hope that helps!
