I have a Kenwood 1080V-R
Hi Jay,
This kind of trouble was caused by leaky/dried electrolytic filter capacitor in the power supply section and or bad solder joints. You must have a capacitor checker to determine the condition of capacitor to isolate the faulty one. Also check for bad solder joints around the power supply section. This is hard to spot, I would advice you to work in the brightest area or used portable/table lamp. If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument, I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to troubleshoot the symptom.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
Kenwood KDC-MP832U display not working
I had this problem! It was the Cars Battery. Kenwoods unit's fade or go completely blank when there is little power to power the stereo. Try charging your battery or grabing a new one from a scrappy! I was all over the net looking for help but finally sorted it!
P.S. My younger brother had to do the exact thing and it worked for him as well!!!
Speaker set up and adjustment
CHECK THE FRONT OF YOUR AMP FOR A SET UP BUTTON OR MENU BUTTON,THIS SHOULD LET YOU SET UP YOUR SUB AGAIN.
HOPE THIS HELPS
CABLE GUY.
No display lighting up.
The first thing to check is the solder connections on the display itself. The display should have a series of pins that you will see on the PC board that is behind the front panel. Resolder the connections on either end. These are the connections that supply both the +and - sides of power. These often develop poor connections. Update this with the results of the resoldering and we'll continue from there if the problem is not resolved.
