Antenna

You can use any indoor TV antenna for the FM section. I've been able to pick up local stations with two pieces of wire (about 30" long) attached to the antenna terminals (other end not connected to anything) and arranged so they angle away from each other. If you want a more sensitive antenna, you can make it using twin-lead cable. See the link below. I've done the math for you: the half-wavelength figure to use is 5 feet; this is for the middle of the FM band in North America. The AM section usually operates with an antenna coil, either permanently attached to the back of the receiver, or mounted inside. simple efficient TV antenna

I have the kenwood vr-7070

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono".

There are many different "listening modes"

There is not a "fix" for this selection, MONO is basically a single channel output so there is no seperation for various speakers like left or right which is a stereo effect, mono is like a single speaker sound so you are fortunate to have the sound from 2 speakers but they deliver the same sound.

Im having a problem with my kenwood VR-7070

No unfortunately this is the way movies are made. I know what you are feeling it is the most annoying thing ever. The only thing you can do is turn down all the surround speakers and turn up your center channel. the voices and talking are always output through the center channel. So you have to do a lot of messing around to get the best settings for you. I am an audiophile and I will never understand why they make the background sound/music in some scenes so much louder then any talking. Hope this helps if you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Lee

Constant buzzing sound in all speakers

Sounds like either a transformer or amplifier problem. You haven't reversed polarity on the speaker connections? or changed the speaker sizes, Ohms, ect? Probably a resistor, diode, or condenser in the amplifier causing feedback through the speaker system. It's doubtful both speaker coils went out at the same time. Possible, but doubtful. And you mention that the volume "SPIKES" from time to time. Could be as simple as corrosion on the volume "pot". Basically a Rheostat that allows more signal the farther you turn the knob. If so, you can clean that yourself with a spray product available at any Radio Shack. It is for cleaning electonic components and leaves no residue. You could have this checked at any competant electronics shop, but BEWARE, the "Bench Fee" to test may be more than the value of the system. I would ask what the "bench fee" was to determine a problem, and then what the labor costs would be to repair either a transformer or amplifier with resistors, diodes, capacitors, ect. Electronic equipment tends to "break down" over time and use, and sometimes you can replace a component cheaper than repair. If part of a rack system, then you may want to retain this sub-part and repair may be your choice. I would ask about the fees to test, and the costs of labor to repair, before turning it over. How old is the system?

How do I change the input from analog to digital or optical on my Kenwood Kraft-v7772d? Thanks

To switch the input on your Kenwood KRF-V7772D receiver from analog to digital or optical, follow these steps: Check the Manual: First, consult the user manual for detailed instructions specific to your model. If you don't have the manual, you can find it online. The manual provides step-by-step guidance on how to change inputs. Input Selector Button: On the front panel of your receiver, look for the Input Selector button. It might be labeled as "Input," "Source," or something similar. Press this button to cycle through the available input sources. On-Screen Menu: Some receivers allow you to change inputs using an on-screen menu. If your Kenwood receiver has this feature, navigate to the menu using your remote control. Look for an option related to input selection or source. Remote Control: Use your remote control to directly select the desired input. Look for buttons labeled with input sources (e.g., "DVD," "CD," "TV," "Optical," etc.). Press the appropriate button to switch to the desired input. Digital Inputs: If you want to switch to a digital input (such as optical or coaxial), ensure that your digital audio source (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console, etc.) is connected to the corresponding input on the back of the receiver. For optical input, connect the optical cable to the "Optical In" port. Analog Inputs: If you prefer an analog input, connect your analog audio source (e.g., turntable, cassette player, etc.) to the appropriate analog input on the back of the receiver. Remember to adjust the settings on your connected devices (e.g., TV, Blu-ray player) to output audio through the selected input on the Kenwood receiver. If you encounter any issues, refer to the service manual for further troubleshooting

My kenwood excelon DPX594BT audio suddenly cut out, why?

Check Speaker Wiring: Ensure that the speaker wires are properly connected to the stereo unit. Loose or damaged wiring can cause sound interruptions. Inspect the connections at both ends (stereo unit and speakers) to make sure they are secure. Bluetooth Pairing Data: Since you've already reset the car stereo and deleted all devices, let's focus on Bluetooth. Go to the Settings menu on your Kenwood system. Select Bluetooth and look for the option to Clear All Paired Devices. This will remove any existing Bluetooth pairings. After clearing the paired devices, try reconnecting your phone or other Bluetooth devices to see if the sound returns. Device Reset: Sometimes a simple reset can help. Turn off the car stereo completely and disconnect the power source (e.g., by removing the car battery cable). Wait for a few minutes, then reconnect the power and turn the stereo back on. Check if the sound is restored. Firmware Update: Visit the Kenwood website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your model. If updates are available, follow the instructions to install them. Sometimes software updates can address audio-related issues. Blue TI Light Flashing: The flashing blue TI light over BT1 indicates that the stereo is trying to establish a Bluetooth connection. Make sure your phone or other Bluetooth devices are discoverable and within range. Try pairing your phone again and see if the sound works. Manual Reference: For more detailed troubleshooting steps, refer to the Kenwood Excelon DPX594BT user manual. The manual provides information on settings, troubleshooting, and common issues. Remember that car stereo issues can be caused by various factors, including wiring, software glitches, or hardware problems. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider seeking professional assistance or contacting Kenwood customer support.
