If its on 9 will it not change channels or what is the issue?

Three digit universal remote code for Memorex are:-

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

NB: Switch OFF and switch ON the Tv each time with its front panel power ON/OFF switch, before trying an other code.

Your TV needs dedicated electric power. If your TV is located in the living room then unplug everything else in the living room. Lets plug the TV set into a Dedicated socket. Check all light switches to ensure that power is on for that outlet. Check the TV cable for Fraying both on the ac wall end and where it plugs into the TV. Check all GFCI outlets to ensure that all red reset buttons are pushed in, check the circuit breakers for proper connection and they are turned on. Now, lets try the TV set without it connected to any cable services, vcr, dvd, stereo system, etc.

The easiest thing to do is switch off the power at the wall socket, or disconnect the plug completely. Then leave everything off for 5 minutes. After that reconnect and there is a very good chance the set will respond.

Either press the TV/AV button on the remote until the tv gets selected or just press on the 5 button from the remote and the tv will switch automatically to this channel.

I would suggest you to unplug the unit for a while (around 30 minutes), then just plug it back in. If that does not work, you will have to take the TV to a local repair shop.

Better try to find the origonal remote rather than find a code from the latest universal remote. Universal remote has fewer buttons so that many discrete functions can not be used without extra buttons especially with combos that had three devices in one TV.

The snow is the sign that no signal is received. LINE1 is the audio channel used by default - none are detected so you are notified of that.
You get this because either the antenna is badly adjusted, the cable from it has a break in it or the tv isn't tuned into a channel - you should do that from the menu.

check that the power supply motor in the vcr burned out.

I don't know what recorder machine you have or what your hooking up to do your transferring. You cant convert VHS movie to DVD by plugging in RCA jacks from VHS player to DVD recorder. DVD reads digital and VHS does not because it reads analog and out put analog. you have to covert VHS movie into digital in order to transfer to DVD. There is a program you can buy call Roxio Easy. great stuff, cost 59.00 buck for your desk top computer, everything you need is there to transfer VHS to DVD...hope that help some, good luck.

Many stations broadcast seperate audio channels to allow commentary or alternate languages to be heard if desired. I recommend navigating your audio settings and looking for "SAP." If this is selected, turn it back to "Stereo," "Mono," or whatever other option is applicable to your audio setup.
