Verizon FIOS Motorola 6200-2 HD box remote freezes
i'm a verizon employee currently working at a customer's house. just swapped out 3rd 6200 stb, the channels will seemingly change on their own(scrolling) after pressing the remote just a few times. the root of the problem is that the remote is not responding to the stb in the first place properly. all i can figure is that there is some type of ir interference. i've placed the remote 1" from the stb and the same problem exists. it's not the box and the remote is brand new, tried 3 remotes as well. there is something going on in the atmosphere around the box - in or outside the custmer's house. they were on vacation and when they came back this is the trouble they were having. i don't have an answer, just some type of possibilities. there is a power transformer outside on a pole approx. 100' from the house and we had bad storm related issues in the past week. i know it's a stretch, but you never know. could be surround sound/ stereo equipment generating some kind of field??????????? good luck.
Motorola dct6416 III - recorded programs appear blank
I ended up calling Motorola who suggested I unplug the power cord from the machine for 10-30 minutes. When I powered back up, I had to give the machine time to reboot but after about 10 minutes with power on I was able to access my recorded shows.

Repairing DCT 2244 and DCT1134 Codes E9 And E11
No. These chip store the U/A (Unit Address) inside the chip in a "one-way format" that cannot be reverse engineered for extraction, exporting or importing. Doing so destroys the actual chip.

If your "shop" is not authorized to repair the Motorola brand and is doing so by way of an unauthorized DAC, they would be in violation of the DMCA and could face millions in fines and your owner, along with anyone responsible or in direction connection to using, aquiring, administering, updating, etc of the unauthorized DAC could spend many years in a federal institution for doing so.

Motorola/GI General Instrument Corporation work very closely with the US Government, CIA and DOD for their digital security.

Motorola
Time Warner has to unlock it. It is an addresable box so it has to be registered on their network in order to work.
Picture problem
I have the EXACT same problem with my Sony SDM-P234 23" HD/computer monitor. I know it works (and it works great) with my DVico PCI card with my computer. It outputs in 480i, 480 p, 720p and 1080i with clarity on a simple indoor RCA HDTV antenna. I get the same quality (1080i) picture for the same three seconds as does lewy. I can also add that the digital coaxial output delivers 5.1 audio to my amp and it stays on even after the picture cuts out. Please help.....Comcast sendsa 'technician' out to service it and...well....did I say he's a 'technician'? He changed the box twice and says it must be my equipment. I guess its an act of God that it works with anything else.... I mean....its been checked out by a Comcast 'technician' after all.
I can't figure out how
Look for a green button marked LIST almost in the center of the remote. If the List button doesn't work, be sure the remote is in the CBL mode (press the CBL button right under Master Power once)
When you get the list of recorded shows up, use the up and down arrow keys to highlight the show you want, then hit the OK/SELECT button. That should bring up another dialog box, look for Play and press the OK/SELECT button again to start.
Half of controls work
Flashman,
It sounds like the remote might be in TV mode and not CBL mode. When you press the List or Guide buttons, the CBL light on the remote should light up. If it doesn't, press the CBL button (located right under the master Power button) once, then try pressing List or Guide again.
Motorola DVR
Try unplugging the unit for at least one minute and then plug it back in . The unit should reset itself . I will take 20-30 minutes for the guide to repopulate.
Cable box showing d1

Hdmi hook up
Yes. Not only does the picture look better you don't have to mess with all the extra cables.
Recording
Coax out from box into cable in on VCR. Coax out from VCR to Cable in on TV. Set TV and VCR to ch 3. Put in blank tape. Start show on DVR and hit record on VCR. Hope that works for you.
