it could be a capacitor or more failing or the control chip failing. crt tv's don't have mean spare parts. as lcd's etc are more easy to get hold of cheap. you may be able to get hold of a copy chip you can get them for under 7 pounds. capacitors make sure you get the same rating that are on the old set. if they are blue change them to black type as blue only have a heat rating of 85c were as black have a rating off 105c. blue type are only recommended for audio but they put them in to save money. look for rounded tops on any capacitor and change them. also remove any and all the dust from the boards wires etc. as any dampness in the air will stick to the dust and cause problems.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

EC means euro connector, I.E. Scart socket. For some reason there is no video signal coming out of the scart cable/out of the VCR or being displayed on the TV. Try plugging the scart plug into a different scart socket and see if that helps.

Have you done a channel scan? This can take a few minutes but it locates and lists all channels If you've not done this already, go into your menu, channels and be sure to enter the receiving input whether it's antenna, cable, or satellite, start your scan and see what channels you're receiving. I sure hope this helps and good luck
