Toshiba DC-SB1 Remote Control - Page 4 - Unanswered Questions, Problems & Issues

I was given a 2007 Toshiba Regza LED television ( I believe it to be LED just because of the Year 2007.) I have the television plugged into the wall standing alone with nothing connected to it no wires no cable boxes nothing. When I push the power button on the side it goes on because the green light is on the bottom it's not flashing but it is on okay. Now what's happening is I'm not getting any picture and I went on to shop Jimmy's and they recommended that I contact you. The back lights are on as I can see through the slots on the back of the television that there is light coming from there. The thing I'm trying to find out if I did the flashlight cuz I couldn't see any picture whatsoever and I don't know I turn the volume up as much as I possibly could through the side and also with the remote. I change the batteries in the remote of course to see make sure that they were working and I shine a flashlight on the screen I could see no picture whatsoever no menu picture no nothing and no sound. So my question is to you, after following shop Jimmy's recommendations it said that if you have your back lights working but you still have no sound or picture then you would need to replace one of two parts or both. I'm not sure what those parts are called I forget but my main question is how much is it to even get those parts and can I still get them. Like is it really worth doing that or should I just go and buy another television. Mind you to see me was given to me at no cost so that is basically the question would it be worth buying those two parts that they recommended and putting them in one at a time or should I just go get a whole new television remember I'm not which call Rich either so... If you could contact me with an answer that would be great please be specific as I am not what you call text Abby okay? I thank you in advance for your time patience and cooperation and helping me to answer this questions. I look forward to hearing from you! Respectfully, Stephanie Whitman PS can this television only be controlled by the remote. There are buttons on the side but to truly get the best quality of the television I would need to use the remote correct?
