DVD RV32 displays H07

I read elsewhere that HO7 ("HOT") means that the spindle motor is getting shut down because it's too hot. This may be because it's become dried out. I unplugged my power*, opened it up, (6-7 screws in the back and sides), then removed two screws to remove the soft disk weight that sits on top of the DVD to keep it firmly against the spindle. I also flipped a plastic switch I could see down through the platter, which allowed me to manually slide open the carousel. After that, I had access to the spindle motor. I gently turned the gears to move the laser back out of the way, then put a little WD40 where the shaft enters the motor. I manually turned the spindle about 30 times to help it seep in. It didn't help the first few times I fired it back up, but after about 3 re-boots it actually worked! That was last night, so no guarantees--and no confidence that WD40 is the appropriate lubricant for longevity, but hey, it was on it's way to the dumpster because of one stupid error, so I'm a happy camper. BTW, to test it, I only replaced the disk-weight assembly (2 screws in the plastic part covering the disk and laser). Disclaimer: I'm not a professional. This is my experience, this is not a tutorial or recommendation. Yes, you can cut, shock, or kill yourself. Capacitors can hold a charge even when a unit is not plugged in. I have no idea what lubricant to use. Get professional help if you're not one.

Our Panasonic DVD-RV32 player plays movies in blk

this is a cableing issiue. I assume you are playing it through a SVHS cord. check to see which pins may be bent. If it is true and none of the pins are bent then you simply need a new cable.

wikipedia talks about these color and non color pins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video
If you are not using SVHS cables and instead are using the RGB or red green and blue RCA connectors then you may have them on the wrong color on either the DVD or the TV get a light to be certain the color you were trying to line up was the right one.

You may have a bad cable here as well. on the back of the unit it doesn't say RGB it says component Pb Pr and Y but just look at the colors of the RCA jacks. Side note here you can use a different cord to test them out, even one of the red, white and yellow cables, Just make sure that the jack goes green to green and so on you don't have to have a green cable in between it, it is helpful but not necessary.

also for reference here is the manual http://www.panasonic.com/consumer_electronics/live_manuals/media/pa029/pkg/manual/PA029_02.html
