Panasonic DMR-E20 DVD Recorder Questions & Answers
DVD recorder DMR-E20 will not communicate with remote
Have the remote tested, it can be done easily without the unit, also most digital cameras in a very very dark room can be used--point remote at camera (with it on) and press buttons, you should see a tiny flash on the display screen of the camera. If the remote tests good the remote receiver in the unit it operates may be bad.Attached is a typical receiver, yours may not have the metal bracket and the item in the picture is actually less than 1/2 inch tall.

Start up u99 message
Hi there, this is what Panasonic say.... The "U99" error code signifies a "general communications failure."
It is not associated with one specific problem.
It can be related to the version of firmware your DVD recorder is currently using and it has been associated with the TV Guide on screen guide.
If your unit displays U99, turn the power off-unplug the
unit for 5 minutes, and reconnect the power.
If U99 reoccurs, please contact
the Global Service Center Network for assistance.

Hi, I have two DMR-E20
HI, well to my mind, if two devices are doing the same thing, I tend to think that's it is NOT the device, but the media, or if not the media, then perhaps the desired action simply isn't available on that unit?.
Many many DVD recorders simply will NOT play, and record all types and brands of DVD's. Especially DVD RAM, along with certain types of DVD-R.
Usually what one needs to do is read the specifications and in there it will dictate exactly what type/brand of DVD is to be used.
Most often the best sort of DVD to use, is the DVD-R/W, from one of the Named brands.
I do not think you have an actual "Fault" and the only type of "Fault" that could cause this type of thing, would be the laser Assembly, and or the Quadrant Detector, however this would also manifest problems with "Other" DVD's as well? Which don't seem to be happening? So I would tend to think, about "Other' reasons as to why this is so before sending off the unit(s) for "Repair"
Below is your user manual.

Line Of Distortion Along The Bottom of an Em20 Burned Disc
It's possible there is either a codec problem with your computer player. I would recommend trying a player such as VLC Media Player, to see if that works. If that isn't it, what kind of TV's are you watching the video on? Are they "tubed" or flat screen? If they are tubed, you wouldn't be able to see the line at the bottom like you do when you play the video on the computer.

Video out problem
I own a DMR-ES20 and had that problem. Panasonic Customer Service gave me a fix that works.
On the unit itself, press STOP and PLAY at the same time for about 10 seconds. This fixed my player.

Doesn't read disks
Hello,
If you are getting the error that states your discs are dirty then the problem could be that your optical lens is dirty. You will need to open the tray then unplug the unit from the wall. Get some cotton cu tips and rubbing alcohol. If you look inside the laser carriage you will see a glass looking bubble in the middle (that is your optical lens). Dip a cu tip lightly into the rubbing alcohol making sure you do not totally saturate it. Gently clean the optical lens in a circular fashion with the cu tip. Repeat this step a few times and then let air dry for 2 minutes before plugging the device back in and then replace the cover and try playing your discs. For best results clean your optical lens once every two months (sooner if you live in a dry dusty climate or have pets inside along with blowing out the inside with a can of compressed air) also clean your discs often to keep them in good shape and place them in their cases when not in use to avoid scratches. You can check out my tips for cleaning dvd/cd discs for more information also. Let me know if you need further assistance.
If you would not mind please rate my help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Panasonic hds700tds playing audio no videos
- Check the Input Source: Make sure you have selected the correct input source on your TV for the device you are using. Use the remote control to cycle through the input options until you find the one connected to your video source.
- Check Video Connections: Ensure that all video cables (such as HDMI, component, or composite cables) are securely connected between your TV and the device you are trying to watch content from. A loose or faulty cable connection could result in a loss of video signal.
- Restart the TV and Video Source: Try restarting both your TV and the device you are trying to watch content from. Power off both devices, wait a few moments, and then power them back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches or issues with the video signal.
- Check for Software Updates: Make sure your TV's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes software updates can resolve compatibility issues or bugs that may be affecting video playback. Check the settings menu on your TV for an option to update the firmware, or visit the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to do so.
- Reset Video Settings: If you've made any changes to your TV's video settings, such as resolution or picture mode, try resetting them to their default values. This can sometimes resolve issues with video playback.
- Try a Different Device: If possible, try connecting a different device (such as a DVD player or gaming console) to your TV to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the TV itself or with the original device you were using.
- Contact Panasonic Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible there may be a hardware problem with your TV. In this case, you may need to contact Panasonic customer support for further assistance or to schedule a repair.
- Hope this helps

I have a Panasonic 50-in flat screen TV a storm came by and knocked out my TV and my Yukon no breaker was off so did it come through the antenna please help
- Check the Power Cord: Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the TV and the power outlet. Make sure there are no visible signs of damage to the power cord or the plug.
- Inspect the Power Outlet: Try plugging another electronic device (such as a lamp or a phone charger) into the same outlet to verify if it is functioning properly. If other devices work fine, then the issue is likely not with the power outlet.
- Check for Tripped Circuit Breakers: Check your circuit breaker or fuse box to see if a circuit breaker has been tripped or a fuse blown. If so, reset the circuit breaker or replace the fuse and try plugging in your TV again.
- Test with Different Power Source: If possible, try plugging your TV into a different power source altogether, such as a different room or building. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the power source you were previously using.
- Contact Panasonic Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue and your TV still does not power on, it's likely that there is a hardware problem with the TV itself. In this case, you may need to contact Panasonic customer support for further assistance or to arrange for repairs. Be sure to provide them with details of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken.
Hope this helps
