If you only have the handset, if I remember, you have to unregister it from the base that was paired with it. If you haven't got that base unit, you are stuck. The standard reset is to remove the battery for a couple of hours.

Plasma TV sets are impossible to get parts for. The problem that you are describing could be many things but the most likey is failing capacitors in the power supply

You could adjust the resolution on your laptop to match the projector, before you start your presentation.

Hi, You can replace parts but first I would check that your remote volume-down button isn't jammed because this might cause the volume to constantly be low or lower. I would also examine the volume-down button on your tv. Thank you.

Turn on your TV.
On your Tune In remote, press TV and release.
Press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
Enter the first three-digit TV code for your NEC from the list which follows:

These codes are listed in order of popularity, and the green light will blink twice if you perform this procedure correctly.
Aim Tune In at your TV and press Power. Your TV should turn off. If it does not, repeat steps 2-5, trying each code listed in step 4 until you find the one that operates your TV.

Normally when the screen is blank and the power indicator is blinking, it means the TV is in the shutdown mode to protect itself. Try unplugging it for several minutes. This will give the system time to cool down and also reset itself. While it is unplugged make sure there is nothing blocking the vents and clear them of dust and debris. Use a non-abrasive cloth. (You can dampen the cloth with water, but do not use any chemical cleaners.) You can also use a can of compressed air made for electronics to help clear the vents.  If this doesn't clear up the problem, then what you read about the SU and/or SD board is most likely the issue. The number of times the power indicator light blinks in a sequence identifies for the technician what parts to test. I have included the chart for you. Because of the high voltage parts in the TV, unless you have done this type of repair before, I recommend having a technician diagnose and complete the repair. Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it.
