You may have a speaker connected that the amplifier cannot drive. Your receiver is compatible with speakers with 6-8ohm rating, however, even though your speakers may be operating within that range they may also have low sensitivity. With the receiver turned off, disconnect the power cord for a few minutes, reconnect and then power it back on. And while you're behind the unit, that would be the convenient moment to inspect your speaker terminals...check for cracks, evidence of arcing and any stray pieces of strand wire that can touch the chassis or other terminals. If any of those conditions exist then that can a root cause of the problem and will have to be repaired. You must also ensure that all of the chassis vents are not blocked and the unit does not have another device on top of it that also generates heat as well. In any event, keep it cool. After that, enter into your speaker setup menu and adjust your crossover to a higher point for whichever speaker you had the failure. This will help control the overload condition, if in fact, it is being caused by your amplifier ability to drive your current speakers. If after all of the above is performed and the condition still exists, try speakers with compatible ohm rating but higher sensitivity.

Channels

Check your cables and then move the channel selector through all settings a couple of times. This will give some indication of the real problem. If the channel comes back after exercising the channel selector, then you have a "Furred up" selector. If the channel doesn't come back then you may have a failed amplifier in the amp.

My panasonic amplifier when i

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the MOSFETS/IC's fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise like a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation.
You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers

Panasonic sa-he7,no sound from sub output,im using

Have you looked at the manuals?

If the unspecified sub isn't self-amplified it won't work with this receiver.

If it IS self-amplified you still needt o set up the receiver to run a sub.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Depends on the reciever, some due and don't, my advice is to get a universal remote that will work with your reciever and then you can adjust your settings no problem. I own a Yamaha RX-V3800n and you can hardly do anything without the remote.

Hope this helps

Overloading

hi mate, ive had the same problem before with this amp. i bought it new aout 6 years ago and bought another new one about 1 year ago, new, for £70!

on the first amp there was a problem with the surround sound aspect, it kept overloading when turned up even a fraction, it would tick 4 times and power off. Eventually the surround sound stopped working all together and whenever selected made a VERY VERY loud hissing/crashing noise through all my speakers, blowing one of them, SO BE VERY CAREFULL.

when that happened i assumed was broken so bought another one, and had same overload trouble when i got a new speaker package.

Im pretty dam sure it was the ohmage ratings being different on 2 of the surround sound speakers that srewed the 1st one, so id suggest you check theyre all ok, as well as the speaker watt-age.

what are the specs on all your speakers (ohms and watts RMS)??

do you listen to LOUD music through the 5.1 option??

hope this helps, if all else fails buy a new one mate, theyre so cheap. go into panasonic shops and see if they have any left.

Panasonic Receiver Model No; SA-HE7

Hi,

Perhaps what might help is to get hold of a Service Manual to be specific on the Part Number or Board Number.

An alternative is to go down component level and replace defective discreet components.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a panasonic sa vk880 and it wont give sound outputs, when i click on subwoofer button or surrounded enhancer it says error, please help

Try disconnecting all of the speakers except the left and right main speakers. If it works, check the wiring at the back of each speaker to make sure there aren't any shorts between the terminals. Better yet, just inspect the terminals both at the audio unit and the backs of the speakers. Stray strands of wire reaching across to the other terminal or exposed wire on the other side are a common problem. If you have that all cleaned up and still have the error, you may have shorted transistors in the output amp of one of the channels, very likely the subwoofer. This may be caused by shorted speaker wiring, or the amp may have failed on its own. In either case, you would have to replace both of the output transistors for that channel (they may be built into a power amp module, in which case the module must be replaced). This requires soldering skill, and the knowledge to identify the transistors and check them with an ohmmeter. Most of the time, it's a basic job for any skilled electronic technician. (I did run into one model that would have required two days of disassembly labor just to get at the failed transistors - I told the customer that wasn't designed for service and he would be better off buying something different to replace it.)
