i would be very careful of this website because the website has no www address and offers very cheap cable and when i went to the site it was very odd compared to other sites iv seen id never send my precious mp3 to this site for repair even if rio had suggested it good day hope this solves your problem

Hi when you have your karma hooked to your pc. open your karma in the rio manager and highlight all the songs in your karam by selecting edit and then select all. then right click on the songs you have high lighted in blue and select save as then you can save the song were you want to in your PC. It could be that the 3.5 millimeter connection on the player is becoming loose from its connection on the internal board. When it does this, try wiggling the plug to see if it changes anything (if the sound fades in and out then it is definitely a loose connection and sodering will be needed). Also, try changing the playback options in the menu...you can change the equalizer presets to Rock, Jazz, Classic, Vocal, etc..

Hi are you still trying to get music off your rio karma. E-mail me at [email protected] if still needed

Files can be copied to the computer from the karma although it doesn't work all that well.
You'll need to use Rio Taxi. I think you can get that if you connect the karma to your network using the dock then browse to the karma's ip address and get it. If not you may have to try and find a place to download it.

Still having this issue? I just read the problem. The mini hard drive can be connected to a PC with the right adapter. If you still want to salvage the songs let me know.

Hi. I use this adapter for RCA Lyra MP3 players and it could be the same for your Rio Karma. To be sure that it is a mini IDE connector, open the karma up by going here http://www.takeitapart.net/archives/rio-karma/ and if it is a mini IDE then you can go to Ebay and search for item # 230283935161. Try looking at Ebay item # 350057466979 or simply search for rio karma battery and you will find what you need. Replacing is as simple as taking some screws off and opening the rio. Don't have someone else do it because it is a simple thing that won't be worth paying someone else to do it.

It would help if you use software like Windows Media to rip the music from a CD to the PC and then copy from the PC to the Rio. Using windows media will add the information automatically to the songs and if it is a copied CD with MP3s with no information on them, then windows media can also search for the information (must be connected to the internet for this) online.

WoW! thanks a million, I had tried everything to fix my wifes RIO and nothing worked! hitting it actually solved the problem!!!!

I think the reason is is because the song is in the wrong format where did you get the song from was it the same place you usually get songs from and did you change the format by accident this could be the only problem that you're having
