Doubt if it is a gas problem. Sounds more like a thermostat issue. Rather surprised that the evap coil is not frosting or freezing up. System may have a defrost cycle or and off cycle defrost long enough to keep it clear. Try to pay attention to the cycling of the compressor to see if it is excessively running long. Thermostat may be available from Restaurant Parts and More. 1-888-814-1110. Talk to Matt or Bryan as they are the most experienced.

Are you referring to the compressor not shutting off down below or the evaporator fan inside the cooling area not shutting off? Evaporator fan always runs the compressor is controlled by the thermostat you could have a bad thermostat if the compressor never shuts off.

Did you fit a manufacturers original or an after market model?
When the thermostat was replaced was it fitted to exactly where the original thermostat was fitted?
These things are tempremental and must be fitted just so.

Possible that the thermostat control is not reacting to the setting.
so you must check if there is any break or replace the unit.

You should clean them condenser coils and check the fan motor. That is something that is fairly easy to do. Get some coil cleaner from ace hardware and go by directions. Check that fan motor. If it ain't going while the compressor is going that is your problem.

Jeremy, after the line and new filter drier is put in the high pressure side and silver soldered make sure the unit is placed in absolute vacuum for 30 to 60 minutes. It's critical that all air and moisture is remove and the charge applied on low side with out a single air bubble put back in. You may need some on hands help on this solution to get the cooler working properly, Thanks Sea Breeze

sometimes the evap has a copper tube that the sensing buld goes into and is very hard to find. The operations manual (found on Parts Town.Com) does not mention it but I have had experiences where you really have to look hard as the hole is less than a quarter of an inch and is sometimes covered with a putty similar to plumbers putty.

Most of the time it's a compressor relay that does this. Your model will most likely have one. Get your model number and check the internet and see if your model has one. They are usually a small black plastic device attached directly to the compressor terminals and take up two of the three terminals. This is under the black plastic cover that is held on by a metal piece or wire, right on the compressor itself. Usually they're only about 10-20 bucks so it my be worth a shot.
