I hooked up my Sony cdx m-600, all works fine but
make sure the unit is hooked to the antenna correctly. This unit will not play the radio and will disable the static noise on the radio. So ensure the antenna is properly hooked in. For more info on how to use the deck
click here for the manual. got this directly off sony's website for model cdx m-600. So let me know if that it is properly hooked up and we can figure out where to go from there.

Don't know if you have an external antenna or one mounted in windshield but you should be able to find the coaxial heading towards the back of the radio. Make sure that it is plugged into the radio.

My Sony car radio keeps scanning but wont hold a station?
Did you do anything around the rear window glass? That is where the aerial is unless you have some other type of antennae. There is also a connector plug under the dash behind the radio. Your signal isn't strong enough for some reason. Have you tried switching between FM and AM channels.
